Very amusing amended 13D filing after the close on Friday by the company CEO, Ilia Lekach, who accuses an unnamed "financial institution" of absconding with his shares. The amended filing has rather different share counts than the original one, as well.

Apple's $7 Billion Christmas Quarter To Be Paced by iPod Sales

While AAPL's share price is driven by short-term earnings, you neglect some longer-term opportunities that make this a very attractive investments. In the next year, we are likely to see new product introductions (iTV has already been announced for January and they all but confirmed the iPhone in a conference call) that will open up large new markets for Apple. Combine that with the best designed PC hardware and a rapidly increasing marketshare in its traditional market, and you get one of the best growth stories out there. The stock certainly isn't cheap and it's very hard to forecast what the revenues and profits will be in 2-3 years. But this is one of the few speculative bets I've made. (Incidentally, I also bought MSFT at $23-24, but purely on valuation grounds.)
