  • Decoding What Gold Is Telling Us [View article]
Santilli is a pure [screaming irresponsible] journalist, and thus makes emotional headlines. This time, he has prematurly popped the Public, without having ANY REAL DETAILS-which won't be available for a few weeks . Give the President a chance to present the details. Then decide.

Everytime CNBC get's several on the screen, talking over each other,
    I mute or get out.

  • Chesapeake Energy Is A Great Retirement Fund Stock [View article]
Not for my retirement acct! Can think of numerous good, like stocks that have shown multi yr stability and solid growth.
CHK is surviving by selling pieces of the farm--where does that end up?
Was around 65 in 2008, I stopped out at 45, and haven't looked back!

  • Chesapeake Energy Is More Undervalued Than Enterprise, Kinder Morgan [View article]
Watched CHK go to 60+ a few years ago, and stopped out at 39.
I watched like a hawk to buy back in, and glad I didn't. There's something about this stock that jus doesn't work for me.

  • Dividends Don't Matter In Retirement Either [View article]
The Author offers HARSH GENERALITYS on this matter not considering a range of retired people. IE, at 81, I've lived through many years of volatility, and survived to date. Dividends in well managed companies are my safety net, and by experience, with such company's, in down turns, the div's are there!

Clayton--2 degrees, and no financial analysis of the health of this Co!!
The div is unsustainable, and the stock is down big over the last several months, and could tank more.

  • Kinder Morgan Partners Continues 14.7% Average Yearly Return [View article]
Looks like your projecting KMI's div increases to be more than 2x KMP indefinitly{wow!}. Very short term thinking, not practical. There's more to consider than just a few years increases.
What happens when KMI divs = KMP/KMR divs? Will KMI head toward the moon? Sorry, I won't dream such.

"even if it is less than optimal, in my opinion."
What do you think is "optimal"? What is your strategy for going forward? Offer some alternatives?

I'm getting 10-15% divs, on cost on the best rated stocks.
Don't much worry about total return at my age[80]!
