I'm a small short-term investor.

When my trades succeed my emotions keep telling me I'm a brilliant investor but my brain (& lots of my other trades) keeps telling me my brilliance is largely luck! I try to stay hedged, try to include a little chart-based market-timing, and use options when I can (no SUPER-sophisticated strategies yet). I usually beat the market but I'm not getting rich (?yet ;-) ) Since I retired I do this a lot. I enjoy it. I keep trying new things & am continuously fighting the impulse to trade more speculatively than my parameters allow, usually successfully but occasionally painfully not.

I suspect I share much of this story with many of you.
