If Citi needs this bailout, then were all the income statements and balance sheets issued over the past 5 years incorrect? Isn't there some liability among senior management, former and current, for issuing financial statements that are deceptive? Some might even call it fraud. I don't hear a word from the boys about this ....all I hear is how we need to save folks from this mess and by the way, allow allow the people who made the mess and fortunes at the same time, keep them.

Jon T. has summed it up correctly IMO. For those who believe in buy and hold, the 1930s is proof that there times when this simply does not work. Go ahead and hold those equities and if the S&P finally bottoms south of 900, you can look forward to a doubling of your holdings during the next generation's lifetime.
