Pondering the 'Pain of Paying'

Will someone please explain why deflation is so bad?
It seems like a good thing to Joe Sixpack, as far as I can tell.
In my own case, I have a Union job and make damn good money by almost anyone's standards. If prices go down (like houses and cars in this most recent example), then doesn't my income thus have more buying power? Doesn't everyone get more buying power for their dollar when things cost less?
Unless you're one of the Wall Street Robber Barons, I can't see how deflation is a bad thing.
Let the prices drop!
