True. Take a look at the chart over the life of this company. The stock was here before and recovered. I love this company. I want to see it succeed and reward investors simply because they have a great product, are innovators, and want us to enjoy our time while listening to a wide array of what we want to hear. If all folks in this organization - officers, employees, content providers, artists - would help this company cut costs and survive during the down turn, they will be handsomely rewarded during the upturn. I take my hat off to Malone and wish him the very best luck. I'm hanging in there for the long term as you can see if you read my post history. I hope that we all do well. This company is exciting. I agree with you that they need to toot their horn more.

I believe the party has just begun again for the long term investors in this company. Check out the solid, solid funds like Vanguard, that have positions. These guys ain't dumb. With the cash infusion from Malone and future support of Malone and don't forget tax savings of any acquiring company, this is a no brainer investment, I think.

I agree completely. I wasn't coming off at you for the bankrupcy price of this stock. Just a general comment in favor of your prior posts. I intended to portray that the stock is trading as if the institutional owners feel that this company is not going to make it. I just simply don't understand why the investing public is not all over this stock as they were before the scare of bankrupcy several months ago now that the scare of bankrupcy is over.

Look at the institutional investors in this stock. There are tons of them. They can move it up and down. We have no ability to do so. jmsithy. Focus on the long term fundies and where this stock is going. People need to get this into their head. Bankrupcy is over. Its over. I know we are all still worried about the auto market, but SIRI is separating itself now it has the cash. They are cutting costs. Bankrupcy of GM is not a liquidation, merely a reorganization. Demand will pick back up for autos. But with IPHONE and IPOD app, SIRI is attempting to become the next Walkman. Except this time, they aren't limited only to SONY. They can put their service in all of the smart phones. Merely an emerging market by the way. Wait until this hits Europe, China, Brazil, India. Get on board and remember, bankrupcy is off the table. I am just simply mezmerized that people haven't been gobbling up this stock as they think its still tied to autos and going bankrupt. It simply is not and is expanding its horizons with a huge cushion of cash to get loans from. When banks start lending again, they can refi. Dude. I just am shocked by the price trading as if it is in bank rupcy. It is not.

Long shot prediction. Apple sees the awesome, awesome power of a SIRI Direct TV combo, buys SIRI and adds music videos to the existing music only channels with the combination of SIRI and Direct TV. I can see BTH now, at the ball game changing channels on my IPHONE, watching music videos, kicking over to some CNBC, kicking over to the sports games. Dudes, wake up, we are about to see the reinvention of media.

I'm betting on a Father's Day release of the I Phone app with a very nice marketing gimmick and big deal with Apple. SIRI moving away from exclusively autos into a winner of a company. Mel and John are teasing us with a very nice looking screen shot of the radio. Couple that with the i tunes shop and this is a winner of a move. The stodgy terrestrial folks are getting CRUSHED! Ads will run to the non-exclusive channels jacking up rev. Mark my words, I said it at .05. You better buy more if your long and run for cover if your short. Just my opinion.

The problem is that every time you downsize, you pay a highschool drop out $150,000. That is the freaking problem. It is ridiculous and must be stopped now. Fascist or not, Unions must go now. This is not the taxpayers problem. Back to the real topic, SIRI/XM. This company's viability is based on their ability to pay STD, short term debt, or debt due within one year. They will have to pay the debt due in Feb as the bondholders will not convert to common stock. I think that they can do this based on the synergy created by merger. The other debts due within the year concern me unless Mel can raise the cash by issuing more shares or refinancing the debt. If he can, look out above. If he can't, then he will face the B word. Big bet. I'm still long.

Mogami:
The Big 3 are doing fine in these times, with the exception of pay and benefits. It has nothing to do with the quality of the cars. The whole problem is pay and benefits. The union is bankrupting these companies. I hope the companies file for liquidation as opposed to reorg (which they wont do) to bust the Unions.
The Japanese don't pay their workers any where near what the Big 3 pay in indemnity and benes. I applaud the Japanese workers who are grateful for their jobs and pay.
If the Big 3 stopped producing and went into liquidation, the Union would be meaningless as there would be no money coming in at all. Thats the result that I want to see, but I know will not happen.
Therefore, Tyler's article is meaningless as the Big 3 will not go into liquidation or will be bailed out by Bush and the Treasury. Auto sales are down all accross the marked, including Toyota and Honda, as people are now all hoarding their cash or trying to delever. We are at a classic bottom in my opinion on a long view as gas prices are down and that will serve to put more $ in everyone's pockets. As the autos are forced to provide greater rebates and deals, the buyers will slowly, but surely reappear.
