When Should You Buy Facebook Stock? [View article]
I'm beginning to wonder if some folks (me included) truly despise FB, or are we just fixated on all the negative sentiment floating around? At some point this stock is going to become very attractive, and maybe we aren't terribly far off, but who knows (I don't). Zuckerburg and co. have been getting pounded, and as long as the current public mindset continues, it is going lower. I honestly do question their data privacy practices, but from a technological perspective I think these guys are on par with the likes of Google, etc. And if you're a nerd, you realize the brilliance. It can be difficult to emotionally detach yourself from what you read, versus making a strict investment decision. My only other concern is that FB is based on a social media platform. My fear is that this fad is in the bubble zone, and will pop as the next popular trend emerges. Has Google+ done any serious damage? I also wonder if Mark can transform the company with the times if it's staying power begins to significantly diminish, or will he just ride it into the ground?
Facebook (FB) and its array of services will be directly integrated with the next version Apple's (AAPL) iOS (iOS 6), MG Siegler reports. He adds Twitter, which is integrated with iOS 5, will maintain its current role. iOS integration will simplify the Facebook sign-on process for third-party apps, and could indirectly help Facebook better monetize them. Tim Cook hinted at an Apple-Facebook partnership on Monday. [View news story]
i just wonder what the term 'integration' means? as long as a fb account isn't a requirement of any of the services, then i don't mind. if apple can leverage their massive userbase, you never know what potential it could have. and it looks like mark is looking for something to dampen the negative beating his company is taking right now. as disgusting as it may sound, there probably is a large segment of people out there that would buy a device strictly due to such a social tie-in. i have to admit i've also been on the fb bashing trend to a degree. i'm just not excited by their product as much as i used to be. but in terms of investing value, if this stocks gets pounded long enough, you watch, people will come in to snap up loads of shares regardless of what was said. i just don't know where that mark is, or have the ability to see down the road far enough. as it currently stands, facebook is still huge, and is still significant, so anything can happen.

znga, lnkd, and other facebook plays, etc.
“they’re all in the sh*tter because now they look expensive since facebook didn’t go anywhere,” we’re told. (huge lol)
brilliant understatement =P
i won't jump the gun just yet and make any predictions because it's far too early, but that quote speaks volumes. it's almost a shame that other companies have to suffer just because fb couldn't outperform on it's ipo debut. but we clearly understand that perception / public sentiment is everything, not underlying numbers and fundamentals. i personally don't think i could ever put anything into fb, but it doesn't mean that perhaps someday (not just yet) they can't become something great. they definitely have the employee talent, and will they find another revenue stream other than advertising? till then i'm just watching.

thank you for the article, i appreciate the opinionated insight. first and foremost, i am not a professional investor, so please don't take me too seriously. i hate to say i agree with the bearish sentiment. i'm not saying rocco is wrong, but perhaps a little too optimistic. at some point numbers have to matter, otherwise we are simply gambling without applying meaningful analysis. i may have it all wrong, but why do so many say p/e ratios mean nothing? then again, taking this approach means aapl is still terribly undervalued. then again, we are talking about momentum trading plays, not fundamentals decision making. finally, i love amzn, and reside near the emerald city, but this thing seriously looks bloated, even if they are spending, spending, spending, for the sake of the future. what about now?
