  • Athersys Could Benefit Immensely From Japan Reimbursement On Stroke [View article]
    I hear you WST.

    I think that Japan - amidst all that is going on in Japan right now - isn't too keen on more seniors living longer, that's what I think. Even if they were independent, they're still dependent. Japan has an extraordinary social welfare program.

    I really want this to go North, so pardon my cynicism. I'll definitely be happy at $2 and especially $3 per share. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...

    Neither here nor there, and mind you, I'm [sadly] long... but when you say 'costly affliction' in the aging population, it made me chuckle. Because Japan has an astronomically huge aging population w/ the highest life expectancy in the world. The Japanese Gov't currently pays thousands of dollars through a stipend program toward people who procreate, even naturalized Japanese (if you've been to Japan, you'll realize this is a huge deal); many of my family members have actually been awarded stipends to this end.

    My point being, I don't think it would be in Japan's best interest to keep MORE senior citizens alive, they are a glut to their already huge national debt. It's wishful thinking like this and knowing everything Northwest Investor has said about Japan bureaucracy and xenophobia is true, to really make me HOPE that the success of ATHX doesn't hinge too heavily on Japan. Hopefully this smoke and mirror gives me an exit price of $2.00/sh and I'll be so happy!

    You sure do talk a lot of nonsense for someone who alleges a lot of dubious intent of others. I pray you find peace after IS data poops the bed or the market responds in kind just the same. Take care. :)

    No, I don't consider any of that hearse, particularly in a such a juvenile space where that kind of thing is standard par for the course. YMB is a silly space. I'm talking about here where if you look at that user's history he was indeed very bullish on athx earlier this year; here, where Northwest Investor makes some very cogent points that remarkably, you seem to blindly dismiss.

    @Northwest Investor

    WST has no meaningful news, but gets a lot of requests to write about ATHX and if I'm not mistaken makes $ on the stories he writes here. That is why we are talking about [irrelevant Japan]; that and the fact that some ATHX staffers were recently in Japan and so it ought to have been useful for a speculative stock bump, except... here we are near support on an ugly chart.

    Somewhat unrelated, and broadly speaking: does anyone here realize how cheap procedures, tests, and medications in Japan's universal health care system truly are relative to the United States? Just curious. I don't think it's because Japan pays well. In fact, even many doctors in Japan make crumbs in reimbursement and MRIs are so absurdly cheap that some seem to get them as a preventative. This has been established in certain universal health care documentaries.

    "always looking for the quick buck"

    that's the very nature of investing in a HFTS world. you spend undue time replying to "11137741" who btw has made more substantive pro-ATHX posts than you and your YMB rambling mentality ever has, fwiw.

  • 3D Systems: $83 Or $26? Pick Your Scenario [View article]
    the market is already starting to run again and this bad boy is in queue. when i see valuations across the board and the hype of 3D products really starting to gain traction in the consumer space across all media, I think of articles like this, when SCTY was in 20s, when TSLA dropped to 120, when TWTR dropped 39, and I just think wow... do these folks get paid by the Vanguard Group and the other big boys loading up recently or what... but I get it. These articles pay well the more they interest people to click and read.

    83 huh? Here's a prediction based on nothing more than the market is a casino and this is like a number waiting for the roulette to hit again. In less than two months it'll be over $100 again, breaking new highs. And all that really matters is hype and technicals.

    if it fails on UC (which I doubt it will given how upbeat Gil seems), a 2013ish <2 price range buying opportunity will certainly present itself.

    " In the midst of talks about Apple's (AAPL) China Mobile deal and its phone and tablet sales"

    sounds like you're a little late on that one buddy, done deal.

    the pink elephant is DoCoMo, it will be a much more dramatic impact to last qtr than anything China Mobile will yield for some time especially MacBooks being a cash cow, in China no less. It's really interesting when QTR ventures outside of AMRN, lol
