October Auto Sales Look Positive for Sirius XM [View article]
The future of Satradio is bright. From any angle...Year over year car sales have no where to go but up....Growth from iPhone and SmartPhone Subs that didn't exist before...Expansion into other areas (Costa Rica, Hawaii, and possibly overseas is not too far away)...Critical Mass is not too far away (as subs grow, the market will hit critical mass, like the iphone did, and sub growth will increase at a greater rate)....Cost controls like renegotiating expensive contracts, and elimination of redundency will continue to reduce operating expenses...and all of this tied into the best exclusive content available. I see almost no downside except for the psycological impact of a reverse split and stock price manipulation via naked short selling. Its difficult to find reasons not to like this company.
Have you heard on the Cosmo Channel, Martha Stewart, or Oprah? In terms of convervative talk, it doesn't get any more right than Fox New and Fox News Talk, or Patriot Channel.

This article is completely lacking. You spend the whole time telling us that it doesn't fit your need, but say nothing about what your need is. Are you looking for a channel dedicated to people with foot fetishes?
Without context, this article is meaningless.
In addition, what the heck is Sonos? I've never heard of it. Sirius XM doesn't even compete with them. I see this as a shameless plug.

I'm shocked they have not done this in the past. That's how the Mobile Phone business exploded. No one would by an iPhone at $600, buy with a 2 year plan and a subsidy, they can't keep them on the shelves.
I'd also like to see cars sold with lifetime subscription built it (as part of the car's sticker price). especially in luxuery vehicles.

Sirius XM Continues to Deliver on Q1 Promise of Expanded Programming Lineup [View article]
To get this back on topic....
I don't think the CNBC news is huge, but its a positive step. I actually thought is was already out there, so this news just made me aware that it was more than just Howard, NFL, and Baseball that didn't make it over to the iPhone.
What will make a difference is when you add up 20 or 30 of these types of things. collectivly they are meaningful.
Regarding content, I'd love to see Palin get a show. While I don't think she is the sharpest tool in the shed, she has a lot of aimless followers who would subscribe to listen to her every day. Just like Rush.
anyway, if they maintain their lead with fresh relevant exclusive content, they will drive forward and be unstoppable.

Utter nonsense (on China)! If its not in the news how did you hear about it Orlik! I only takes a nonosecond to figure out this is pure garbage. First of all Sirius XMs sats dont cover China, it doesn't matter is every car in China has a sat radio. There is no signal! No more time wasted on this. Please no one respond.
The Skydock is one more way Sirius XM is appealing to niche markets. This is a good thing! Sirius XM has always appealed to those who were not content with commerical riddled mainstream garbage played over and over again on terrestrial radio (Britney Spears, etc). On its own, the Skydock will not rocket Sirius XM into the stratusphere, however collectively, all of the small things they've done in the last 6 months (iPhone Support, Skydock, new content, etc) will! Sirius understand that everyone is a bit different. Some love Howard, Some love political news, Some love Rock, Some love country music (yes, even country music). Some listen at work, some on their way to work, some when hiking, etc. And some love their iPhone and don't want to carry around a buch of additional equipment. This is the niche the Skydock will appeal to. every niche market, while small, is loyal to their cause. I think we will see a continue trend of new and exciting things coming from sirius.
BTW: Anyone here about Sirius XM in Puerto Rico? I heard something about them getting repeater approval for the next 180 days.
August Auto Sales Should Give a Sirius Boost to Subscriber Numbers [View article]
Auto-Sales are on the rise. I think we saw a glimmer of what's on the Horizon.
In this country a car is not a luxury item. A car is a necessity. Due to the poor economy people are holding off on buying new cars. The cars they are holding on to are getting older and older by the day. Many of these are needing repairs.
With the Cash for Clunkers program, some of these people saw an opportunity to make a move on a new car. The people with old cars who didn't or couldn't take advantage of the program are still in need of a functioning vehicle and will eventually need to make the move.
With that said, I see the car sales problems as temporary. The question to consider is not IF people will buy new cars, but WHEN.
Sirius Radio: Glowing or About to Burn Up? [View article]
This entire aritcle ignores the improved financial fundements that the finds itself in. It ignores the new SEC rules regarding naked short selling. It ignores the cost reductions, which will be further reduces and contracts get renewed. It ignores the new deals with used car dealers. It ignores the incremental fees associated with Internet listening. It ignores improving signs in the economy, it ignores the synergies about to happen with DirectTV, it ignores new SkyDock. And the list goes on and on...
Sirius Keeps Improving Satellite Radio for Consumers and Investors Alike [View article]
An article a while back talked about adding some strategically placed billboards. I think it would be well worth the money. I would do it differently however, and target drivers with Sat Radio in their cars already. Have a Howard Stern (or some other personality...perhaps even Opra) billboard, but have the activiation number as the primary message. something like..."Howard is waiting for your call...simple call 111-222-3333 and you could be listening to Howard in 2 minutes instead of reading this billboard.
Sirius XM's Game Changer About to Rock [View article]
I'm excited about the potential of the announcments, but I'm thinking that the number of iPhone Owners without Sirius or XM already in their car is limited. In other words, If you are paying out for an iPhone, you probably drive a relativly new car with Sirius XM already in it.
What I am excited about is the possibiilty that that will announce a pure Sirius XM boombox. One that doesn't require a plug in receiver. I mean a pure and simple Sirius XM boom box!
I'd also like to see a portable SiriusXM Assessory, so I could take an iphone into a basesball stadium and listed to MLB when not in my car.
