  • Chesapeake Energy Flounders [View article]
I hope this statement is correct:
"Because of the depressed price analysts think investors could see an annual rate of return in the 24% - 28% range over the next 5 years"

I can put all my money in CHK and retire! just need Aubrey M. to confirm.

  • With 77% of Chesapeake's (CHK) estimates of its reserves produced by independent firms in 2011 vs. an average of 89% for nine rivals, investors are concerned that Chesapeake's figures are overly aggressive and may need to be written down in the future. Chesapeake is already known as the "number one cutter of reserves." [View news story]

  • Natural Gas At Yearly Highs, Which Stocks To Buy? [View article]
Nice article and well explained. I would like to add that those 3 companies are extremely cheap vs. their NAV which is one of the main things you need to look on E&P companies. The current natural gas prices will show its' impact and results by year end.

  • Today's spike in shares of ATP Oil & Gas (ATPG +10%) appears to stem from partner Isramco's report on details around an Israeli natural gas discovery announced earlier this month. Isramco says the Shimson well offshore Israel, in which it holds a 39% stake while ATP holds 40%, was flowing at 40.2M cubic ft./day following a 54-hour test.  [View news story]
Where is the announcement of ATP on Israel???
In the current situation of the shares and bonds, I would guess that if it is a significant event ATP will not hold any good news!

  • Anadarko: Buy Now For The Best Gains [View article]
APC is one of the best E&P companies. I am in the oil business many years and worked with the majors and the independent. APC's exploration history is one of the best in world. Recent results in the US and Africa, including the one announced today, would increase the company's value short and long term.

  • Chesapeake Energy (CHK) boasts employee benefits from Botox injections to NBA tickets, but here's a most unusual perk: ~12% of its workforce could enjoy a windfall if control of the company changes. For some employees, that means cash payments of 50% of salary plus 50% of their latest annual bonus. Some are asking whether recent board changes already have triggered the provision.  [View news story]
Reuters are spending thousands of hours investigating CHK. Haven’t they found anything positive?? Just bad and negative things??
Do you think that if you give $100 million contingent bonus in change of control in order to attract 1600 high level employees and you gain much more in the value of the company is negative?

  • Chesapeake's Lesson For The Oilpatch [View article]
CHK is a great buy. When you analyze their assets value relative to the current share price there is a NEGATIVE value of resources in all the acreage they holed. Doesn't make any sense. That's why by year end it will be at least at $25.
