  • Qualcomm: Apple-Related Sell-Off Is Irrational  [View article]
People are pricing in the decline of AAPL before it's even happened. This thing hasn't seen it best days yet.

  • Betting On Apple's Operations Team And Gross Margins  [View article]
The price fluctuates wildly and level-headed investors should take advantage of that. Nothing has fundamentally changed with the company. They are still the leader and everyone still wants an iPhone/iPad, not an android/Nexus7 tablet. The past few months have been a perfect storm in terms of AAPL taking a price hit - iPhone 5 supply issues, Obama's re-election (sorry Barack), and the fiscal cliff scare. It's a winning formula for large investors to sell off their risk assets and/or take profits and that has largely been at Apple's expense.

  • Omaha Hold 'Em: Going All-In On Berkshire Hathaway  [View article]
As a smart and lazy investor, I look at BRK.B as an alternative to the SPY. Berkshire picks only the cream of the crop businesses. You can be sure that they've been thoroughly vetted by the best, most conservative, and longest-time horizon oriented investors in the business. Buy BRK.B on ~any~ corrective dips in the market.

With the glut of housing that was built during the boom, is there a credible expectation that there will be a recovery in home construction?

  • The Rich Will Not Abandon Dividend Stocks  [View article]
I agree with the title of the article, yet I don't think now is the best time to buy some of these mature dividend stocks at inflated multiples. Does it make sense that JNJ and PG are trading at 23x earnings when revenue is basically flat and net income is declining YOY? I don't think so. However, I do agree that the wealthy are always going to be in dividend stocks. They will just have to adjust to keeping a little bit less of their dividend income.

I am also a strong believer in the long-term prospects of BAC and AIG. Let's hope we are both correct.

Comparing GRPN sales ratios with AMZN and GOOG is just laughable. This whole thing is a joke, but thanks, I needed the laugh!

  • Is Microsoft The Ultimate Value Trap?  [View article]
The stock is and has been dead money for a decade. We all know this. If you want stable dividend income, then MSFT is a great stock to own on dips. Nobody expects it to take off or to tank. I've heard the term "value trap" so much over the last month it's really getting boring. And "Mr. Market"? Come on man....

  • Modern Portfolio Theory 2.0 - The Most Diversified Portfolio  [View article]
It kind of feels like this strategy is cherry-picked based on systematic events that have already occurred. Why don't we look forward at what we think is going to happen, rather than constructing a portfolio that would have performed optimally over the last 10 years?

TechStrategy was talking about the future, you are rebuking with anecdotal evidence from the present. Also, how are iPad and PC mutually exclusive? I have both and they work great together.

Saying that Amazon's sales revenue growth will drop off so dramatically is severely throwing off your valuation. I am one of the biggest believers that AMZN is overpriced but I can't just pretend that revenue is just going to magically level off in the next 5 years.

  • The Surprising Truth Behind Herbalife Put Volume  [View article]
This stock has been some hedge fund's whipping boy for almost 6 months now. I caught on to it a couple months ago, when I realized it was range bound and the unusual options activity in the name. The powers at be will not let the stock drop below $42, so it's always safe to buy it below $45 (below $44 is a gift) and it will usually rally to around $53, and that's where the hedge fund repeats the cycle of shorting the stock and selling the puts. It's clear market manipulation and if we had a competent SEC there would be a lot more of these Ivy League crooks in jail.
