  • Did Apple Bottom Friday? [View article]
All that I will say is the market actually rallied into the close on Friday, going into a very uncertain weekend. That should tell you all you need to know. The leader of the senate says that they won't wait until the 11th hour to pass a deal, so I expect a resolution to this "fiscal cliff" by the second week of December. Stocks will soar, but we will continue to run $1T+ deficits...

  • Marissa Mayer might finally be planning those huge job cuts many have called on her to carry out: sources tell Kara Swisher Yahoo (YHOO) will implement a new performance-measurement system with the goal of identifying the "bottom 20%" of workers, with the goal of lowering the compensation allocated to that group. Also, Yahoo has cancelled a policy of giving most workers the week between Christmas and New Year's off. Yahoo cut 2K jobs this year ahead of Mayer's arrival. [View news story]
I don't like a company-wide policy of identifying the bottom 20%... at least don't announce it publicly. It creates a sense of paranoia and unhealthy interaction between co-workers.

I think selling can continue up until Thanksgiving, but December will be a strong month. If you look back to 2011, it's playing out almost identically.

  • 3D Systems: Has The Printer Jammed? [View article]
I find it extremely difficult to believe that the author has no short position in this name, at the very least put options before this article was published. Slow volume day (Veteran's Day), pick a thinly traded company, write a hit piece, profit $$$.

LOL! Well, your article is apparently responsible for a 7% decline in the stock price. You must feel pretty powerful.

  • Retirees: It's Time To Learn More About Dividend Growth Investing [View article]
I think now is a dangerous time to be buying high dividend stocks. They have been bid up since the financial crisis and many big blue chip names are trading at very premium valuations. With the fiscal cliff looming, tax rates are going to go up on dividends and I think there is a high probability of a sell-off before the New Year. I believe that better entry points will present themselves within the next few months, and although dividend growth investing is a long term strategy, entry point is very important over a 20 or 30 year period.

  • What If Apple Weren't A Tech Stock? [View article]
Wow. There are an unbelievable amount of comments on this article, and yes I read them all.

Here's my take on the recent sell-off: Hedge funds and large institutions pump, and they dump. Sometimes they get dumped on, sometimes they do the dumping. Right now is a golden opportunity to get in this stock. If anyone really believes that AAPL is out of product innovation then I truly believe that they are irrationally biased. Has everyone forgot about the not-so-secret Apple TV? Imagine how much excitement is going to ooze out of analysts rear ends when that is officially leaked or announced.

Part of this sell-off is attributable to the wet blanket feeling of Obama getting re-elected. Part of it is discounting future EPS with the assumption that any compromise on the fiscal cliff will raise corporate tax rates, so that is logical. But for AAPL to be trading at almost below a 0.5 PEG ratio and 10.78x next years earnings, it's just a fantastic time to take advantage of the market's irrationality. I will be buying call options en masse once I feel confident that the bottom is in, and it's not far. I can see it falling to maybe 515-520, but not lower.

Okay, let's say you're tired of hearing 100s of comments regarding fundamentals. Look at the chart. For the first time this year, AAPL has dipped below the seriously oversold "30" level on the Relative Strength Index. It is even about to enter "30" territory on a weekly chart, which indicates EXTREME oversold territory. You can compare the EXTREME overbought territory that GOOG experienced right before the recent sell off on a weekly chart. In hindsight, it was glaringly obvious and I called it on my twitter. The same is happening right now in AAPL, and if you like money, you will start to get in before the boat leaves the dock. Trade them well.
