Hmmm..., isn't the banking/financial system based on confidence??? So I've and the whole populace has been told. Oh well, what's another little white lie amongst so many other big ones. Sad is right!

LOL, f**k goldman..., I like that sentiment! But it ain't gonna happen, not in the near term anyway. Everything and I mean everything will be done for it not to happen to GS and JPM. So ride 'em up and down to your advantage.
It might be a bit twisted, but isn't it nice to see GS scrambling! While I kinda like the idea of GS having its hands tied by regulations, I have little confidence in the regulator; GS will likely get preferential treatment anyway. I also regret that GS will be able to dump its toxic waste with the Fed to secure funding. Perhaps GS will buy WB or WM as its commercial arm?? Hell..., what's a little more toxic waste if they can get some deposits.
Isn't it nice to see in the draft bailout law that protecting taxpayers is the second consideration Hank has to look at! The first is stablizing the financial and banking system. Does the order imply a hierarchy?? Perhaps yes, perhaps no. But I tend to think yes because I'm cynical.

Ken and the rest of you, this aint know ordinary loan and its just as misleading to suggest that it is. Not too many loans that I know of that also entail an almost 80% ownership stake and a change in the board of directors.

So now that you Americans have an election at hand, which of you is going to stand up and lead the tax revolt?? If you really believe the taxpayer is getting the shaft by all of this, by paulson, Bernanke and the cabal of Back Room Boys, then get your GD message out there!! God knows..., the American populace might even be receptive to such exortations in this environment.

Well, stock price is certainly one indicator of distress. I also think that MS CDS obligations are also another cause for concern. Might MS be afected by the AIG bailout/conservatorshi... in the sense that it represents a credit event triggering CDS obligations?? That might certainly cause some distress.
Obviously someone at LEH must have pissed off Hank or Ben or some other Big boy for not playing ball at some previous point in time. The double standard hasn't been more clear than tonight! Anybody thought about the CDS implications? Another triggering event like the FNM/FRE bail out??
I've got a question. Will this be a triggering event for AIG CDS like the FNM/FRE bail out was for its CDS?? You know, Hank, Ben and the Boys must be thanking their lucky stars that Americans are so apathetic.

Hmmm..., hasn't the CDS freight train already been unleashed by the nationalization of FNM and FRE? LEH's demise just pushes that along a bit. Now AIG's demise would would really get it rolling! And really that's just what this market needs. Whether you like it or not, markets boom and they bust and they are directly related. We've had a big boom and now its time for the big bust. So deal with it.
