  • A few more details on Facebook's (FB) Graph Search event: The product is still in limited beta, and no ETA is provided for mobile availability. Results are based on a ranking algorithm. Mark Zuckerberg says Graph Search "extends quite nicely" to Facebook's sponsored search product, but monetization isn't a priority for now. Would Facebook consider working with Google (GOOG)? • Google Is Microsoft In Devices, But Watch The Cloud [View article]
"The cloud" is only a generic "pipe" unless you have some differentiating content to create sustaining value. I agree with you that valuing Google simply on their PPC and Banner advertising will only cheapen the value of their stock as the industry continues to mature - but I have to disagree that they are executing a real value generation strategy. Unless they START demonstrating real focus and business acumen I remain "Bullish on SHORTING their stock"

  • Google (GOOG) has rolled out what it calls the "biggest update ever" for Street View: an additional 250K miles of roads have been added in more than 17 countries. The search giant has been busy making upgrades to Maps this year, as it works to stay ahead of Nokia, OpenStreetMap, and Apple's (much-criticized) iOS 6 Maps app. 3D images, new traffic data, off-line mobile caching, and additional high-res satellite/aerial imagery are among this year's improvements. [View news story]

  • Google (GOOG) is definitely taking mobile search seriously: Search Engine Land notes 16 ways in which Google has tailored mobile results relative to PC results. Among them: local results appear more often; app download links show up; and interactive content quickly appears for topics such as weather and sports. NetMarketShare estimates Google has a 91% share of mobile search, leaving Yahoo and Bing to pick up scraps. But monetization has been hurt by lower ad rates and revenue-sharing deals. The interesting thing is that to this date Yahoo local still gives better local results than Google ever did. At least in my NYC zip code

  • Is Google A Good Stock To Buy? [View article]
Have you tried searching in Bing lately? Much cleaner and relevant results than Google. Definitely a variable you have to include in any type of future valuation of Google.

  • Google Needs A Breakthrough Product Now [View article]
I have never seen a public company of Google's size have as bad management and decision making ability - the only analysts "praising" their misdirection are those that have long positions in their disclosure. Show me focus and a complete overhaul of its management and I may consider their stock.

  • The Market Is Overlooking Google's Earnings Potential [View article]
I disagree Alex - their current revenue model is not sustainable (as well as becoming increasingly competitive) and they have not demonstrated efficient management practices to reassure that they can grow their new areas of investment into an on-going sustainable business

Did you read the most important part of Mr. Simpsons comment?
"The Google mail API is public. How on Earth would they prevent Apple from accessing it? GMail is also web accessible."
If investments are being made without true knowledge of an industry - we are definitely at risk of a major bubble.

Do you understand technology? do you know that you can access any email application from the Apple iOS native email set up - the only way that Google could deny access to this would be if they close their email system to any industry standard email protocol - and I do not think it is in their best interest to do so. Your argument may have hold a bit more ground if you discussed the YouTube application - but still remain strategically flawed.
