You're not getting it cuz, you are letting your emotions rule your thinking, that assumes.

All you have to do is ride that gravy train, and stop hating, or hate and be poor cuz!

    Hate don't pay much.

  • Fighting Over Rectangles: Why Apple Can't Win The Patent War [View article]
I wouldn't go that far with Koreans. I know many Koreans and they are decent good people. Been there many time, even to visit Samsung.

People are people and all are capable of trying to copy and get away with it, steal if you wish to call it what it is.

I agree, that a stand on principal is really the key issue.

Having said that Samsung is a dirty player all around period. They have been fined too many times to count by the US FTC alone. Dumping, collusion, etc, but on the other hand many US firms have been caught with their hand in the cookie jay as well.

  • Are There Enough Chips For A Robust iPhone 5 Launch? [View article]
    Another short seller of Apple.

Apple is NOT the only customer Qualcomm has, duh. Though as a single customer they are probably the most important.

So here's how it works, there is supply constraint, Apple provides a strategic purchase of x-number of parts at a certain price. Qualcom takes the money and provides Apple a guarantee of x-number of chips, and they deliver, imagine that!

I know that's how it works because I worked at Apple and that's how we handled situations like his

  • Strong Signs Apple Investors Are Naively Pricing In Robust iPhone 5 Sales [View article]
Well if you look at Apple and Samsung in the same market. Look at Samsung's numbers and their guidance. Look at the carriers and their guidance.

I believe the only way Apple doesn't do better than Samsung is they, Apple, screws up. So given that, if Apple can take marketshare, more pieces of the same size, not growing, pie, they come out much better than you, the author suggest.

So far it don't look like anyone is betting on Apple,s Q1 or Q2, just look at the options. One thing I do know, China's telcos haven't slowed down on network equipment purchases Wouldn't appear they're predicting doom & gloom, based on their capitol expenditures.

We'll just have to see. You will let us know if you screw up on your predictions since you point out your questionable successes.

  • VMware Aims The Cloud At Cisco [View article]
When you have dedicated hardware switches/routers, which as stated are computers, you can't take a PC type of versatile platform and even come 1/1000 in terms of functionality and speed. Routers make money from traffic. You can't fit enough PCs into a room to do what Cisco' top line router will do, you will just have to have huge data centers, using ten times as much power.

You can make a router/switch from a PC. I have done it as a hobby. Uses a BSD derived OS. It would be enactable of competing with a real router.

As stated, you can compromise using a PC and some virtual OS as a router to some extent but seriously, this is not competion to Cisco.

I don't think you know what you're writing about. But I'll advise John tomorrow.

Cisco person in the top line router division.

  • Apple: Don't Lose That Magic [View article]
Yes I agree. They haven't managed to get out a new phone in two years, something is wrong with that, seriously wrong. iPhone 4s is not a new phone, just a few months tinkering. Hey and if you can't even get out answer version of what you have knowing what you want in it, how are you going to come up with something revolutionary, you ain't, just ask Samsung. Have an idea, what if apple just copies like everyone else, you know, copy the Galaxy III. Now that's a plan!

No sense of urgency, no sense of ownership, can't/won't make the tough calls. Just ride the milk cow till the cow dies, (old Mac days before Jobs came back mentality). Was there in this days so I know.

    It is so obvious now.

  • Beaten-down chip stocks are rallying (SOXX +2.9%) thanks to pleasing reports from Broadcom, STMicroelectronics, Altera, and others. Interestingly, many Apple (AAPL -4%) suppliers, off initially on the FQ3 miss, are also gaining - even Cirrus Logic (CRUS +3.5%), which has 60%+ exposure. Two possible implications: the Street thinks Samsung will make up for any iShortfall, and/or it's less bothered by Apple's iPhone shipments per se than its margin and ASP declines. (more on AAPL)  [View news story]
Well no it's nit that o-lame one. Apple is selling as many iPads as they can make, so there is still upside in that area. You are suggesting that there is one-to-one overlap in suppliers and that isn't the case at all.

  • Apple's Feeling Europe's Economic Crisis [View article]
Well Samsung got a lot of love!!!

The issue is, the iPhone is now TWO, as in 2, years old. The 4S was a joke in terms of an upgrade. This is not about Europe's economic whose. This is about Apple sitting on their ass.

This is exactly how they were before Jobs came back. They can't see the trees for the forrest, blind. How many Engineers do they have? And it takes TWO years to come up with a new design.

I think I'll start looking at other companies that don't have their heads up their ass.

  • Apple Grows, But Europe Weighs Heavy [View article]
I believe Apple met the numbers they committed to. Goes to show you can't please all the people all the time.

The problem they face in Samsung is that Samsung is a conglomerate and they hide their numbers, so you can't actually tell how they do. They don't even give you a breakdown on percentage of phones. As a matter of fact you actually can't verify anything they say WRT their consumer electronics. I have been advocating for years to have them delisted. Look how many countless times the FTC has slapped them with stiff fines for dumping and collusion to fix prices on memory.

    Stop the fines, delist them.

  • More on Apple: Cash/investment balance reached $118B at end of FQ3, up from $110B at end of FQ2. Opex +35% Y/Y to $3.4B, surpassing revenue growth. iPhone revenue +22% Y/Y (major slowdown from FQ2's 85%), implied ASP of $625 (down from FQ2's $646). iPad revenue +52% (was +132% in FQ2), implied ASP of $538. Mac desktops -19%, Mac notebooks +3%. AAPL -5% AH. (PR) (webcast)  [View news story]
Apple is broken. They are thinking they can sit on their ass. What the hell good is all that cash if i's not invested on gaining an edge, even if you have to double the effort to get products to market. Samsung is certainly pulling out all the stops. Samsung isn't turning in crap quarters. Apple need to learn from Samsung.

I am very disappointed in Apple. I think it just may be down hill from here on. They just don't get it. Just like the old Apple before Jobs came back to right the ship.

  • Mentioned during Apple's FQ3 call: China iPhone sales doubled Y/Y (total sales up 3x last quarter). Asia-Pac Q/Q decline due to Chinese iPhone inventory adjustments (suggests channel was stuffed in FQ2). iPad channel inventories up, iPhone inventories down. iPhone weakness in France/Italy/Germany. iTunes revenue of $1.8B, down slightly Q/Q. 2x Y/Y increase in iPad sales to education, 3x to Fortune 500. 1.3M Apple TVs sold (+170% Y/Y). FQ4 gross margin guidance of 38.5%. AAPL -5.1% (live blog) (more)  [View news story]
".household expenditures are scaling back ..... food prices increasing...........I tried to sell half last week at 616 did not touch sell order limit..... oh well ........ now have to wait for the slow ride up again......"

This doesn't jive when you hear how many Galaxy III Samsung sold in a month, doesn't Jive. Apple needs to do a better job at spending some of the $100B+ on brute force to get product out sooner. They are missing the window and once any one converts to the Samsung they are likely gone for good. Apple has their head up their ass if they think they can just take their sweet time. There won't be any lunch to be had.

  • Apple: Why Drag Your Feet Any Longer? [View article]
"companies such as Microsoft, Cisco (CSCO), and Intel (INTC) got to a high price, like Apple currently is now, they owned huge proportions of their markets. Microsoft owned 90% of the PC market, Cisco owned 70% of the networking market, and Intel owned 80% of the PC market as well. However, Apple only owns around 5% of the current PC market and 9% of the mobile phone market"

That all well and good, but Apple's stock didn't budge. Why?
