I am a GE stockholder who has complained for a couple of years, to no avail, that Kudlow's right wing bias does not belong on a news station. I think Caruso-Cabrera also lets her personal agendas interfere with her ability to be objective. As for Kneel with the silly grin, I wonder if he is Immelt's nephew. That would explain why he is on the station. Overall, I am one of those who watchs the tape or stats from time to time, but without the sound.

America's New Stimulus Package: Looks Good, But Is It Enough?

The payroll tax reduction in this plan as I understand it is a reduction in Social Security Taxes. If I am correct this does NOTHING for 40 million retirees who are already hurting because the Federal Goverment pushed our interest earnings on our retirement savings to almost ZERO to bail out the banks and the fools who bought homes they could not afford. It is time for AARP and all the other senior groups to speak up for seniors.

Stock Buybacks: What's Causing the Decline?

Management likes to get most of their compensation in stock options and appreciation rights that can be sold and the profits taxed as long term capital gains rather than regular income. So buying back stock when the market is strong and you can push the price even higher benefits the executives. On the other hand, buying back stock when the price is below their exercise price does nothing to benefit the executives. Think about it, why were most buyback programs done when the prices are high, not when they are low? If the executives and their boards were not all in this deal together maybe they would quit buying high and selling low.

Inhospitable Value at Hospitality Properties Trust

I hope by now they have fired all the people involved in the TA acquistion. That was a dumb move that could only have been done by a bunch of fools. Their departure would be a good cost reduction. I have owned the stock from the beginning and it was a great investment before TA.
