When the phrase "long term" is used, it is realitve based on the current economic facts. Long term, in this case, may be a decade or two... The questions are, when does long term become too long term and when is your investment best placed in something else?

In the "real economic world" I can't see how many of his placements will do very well for the next few years when you look at other investments. Then, dure to the losses of BH, it will take time to dig out from the hole.

I think his formula worked great for a time, but so did the Atkin's Diet. Time for something new, based on a new reality.

    ambushed:

    Even better idea.

We package all of the money we owe to everyone and market it as an "investment" to be sold to suckers in Asia.

Oh! We already did that... And what happened? Oh!

First of all, Does anybody know why Seeking Alpha now requires two Google Corporation scripts to be run in your browser in order to post on Seeking Alpha?

Both of the scripts being run by the Google Corporation on Seeking Alpha have been flags as unsafe by my computer security software.

There is another script that is also being run by Seeking Alpha from nuconomy.com that is flagged by security protection software as a privacy concern. Now I have to use a computer at an Internet cafe to post on their computers. Crazy!

Is Seeking Alpha now violating privacy of posters, or reporting back to Paulson, Pelosi and Frank who is posting what against them? LOL!

    Anyhow...

    MESSAGE TO WARREN:

No cuts in the soup line!

Don't lie on your Food Stamp application!

Don't get me started about the Buffett Burger...

As Warm_Paw said, he is nothing more or less than a "poster boy" in an effort for Bush-Paulson to gain support for this scheme that they are calling an economy. You know things are really pathetic when Warren is out there telling people to buy stocks... After you Oracle of Omaha!

Warren Buffett is out there working with Bush and Paulson in an effort to talk the stocks up, just these talking head-types talked the housing market into a balloon.

The stock market, in my opinion, knowing what I know about the actual value (push comes to shove - margin call) the Dow should be at about 4,000 to 5,000 as fair value. The 9,000 that will be peeled away, is nothing more than hype from Madison Avenue meets Wall Street marketing. Hype and more hype... One giant confidence game that is on the fall and it may take Buffett with it...

Here is some good advice for Mr. Warren Buffett:

1.) Invest and develop a chain called the Spam Stores -- they will sell tinned meat at a reasonable price to the hundreds of millions of people in poverty.

2.) Create a family food chain called the Mac-N-Cheese Market -- then name speaks for itself.

3.) Perhaps a Soup and Cracker Cafe -- I hear you could get a great deal on all of the Starbucks that close.

As I've said before Warrenn, don't lie on the Food Stamp application and don't cut in the coup kitchen line!

I don't know... I don't see a lot of these name brand things moving at all. Once consumers realize that the cheese, mouthwash, toothpaste, etc. is sufficient, it will be hard to pull them back at higher prices. I think you would need to see a big lift in area of consumer's discretionary spending. Long term for sure...
