  • Apple Solar Frenzy: Benefiting Shareholders And The World Alike [View article]
    I have held Aapl for over 4 years. I am sick to death of their solar plans. The payback on this "investment " will be in the number of years, if not a decade.

    To quote you: " but this is trading (or investing, makes no difference); "

    That comment alone invalidates anything else which you may say, in my opinion.

  • Apple At $650. Now What? [View article]
    @Bret

    Other catalysts will be the company's 7 for 1 stock split that will be initiated at the close of business tonight.

    Don't you mean close of trading Friday????

    So the question is: why does he spend the time? For the pennies per click? Does he really believe his articles will affect Aapl's trading price?

    What is your motivation Mr. Blair?

  • Every Dividend Income Investor Should Own Apple Now [View article]
    I am long Aapl, and will be adding to the position up to June 2, WWDC, when I expect it to explode to the upside...will be all in before that. But, since most of Apples cash is offshore, do you think that the fact that new dividend increases comes from issuing new bonds will be a limiting factor on Apples ability to continue to increase year by year dividend increases? Or do you think that return to growth will solve this problem?

    I am adding to my current Aapl, and will be through the WWDC on June 2nd. But, since so much cash is held outside the U.S., and I believe one does not want to float a new bond on every dividend increase, do you see the dividend increasing greatly each year? Or, will the previous fact restrain, to some degree, said increases?

  • How Will Apple's Stock Split Impact Its Shareholders? [View article]
    Thanks George. The wording was driving me crazy, even though I intrinsically knew Wall Street could not screw you that way. I am planning on doing some buying around then since June 2 is also the start of Apples WWDC in adittion to the split.

  • How Will Apple's Stock Split Impact Its Shareholders? [View article]
    No I got the dates wrong. I understand stock splits. What I was asking was why say that shareholders of record on June 2nd will get the stock split, when trading does not occur until June 9th on the new, reduced, price. The implication was if you buy the stock after the record date but before June 9th you will not get the split. Anyone on record as of June 6th has to get the additional 6 shares.

  • How Will Apple's Stock Split Impact Its Shareholders? [View article]
    @author
    " In Apple's case, the stock split will impact the owners of the shares at the closing price of June 02, 2014 - all shareholders of Apple on that date will receive six additional shares of the company, and the trading on the post-split levels will start from 09 June, 2014. "

    If trading on post split occurs on June 9th, and one receives the extra shares to shareholders on record as of June 2nd,......what happens to people who buy on June 5,6,7,8?? They are not on record as of June 2nd so they do not get the 7 for 1 split....and they bought Aapl at pre split prices? What am I missing?
