Why I Would Not Bet on iPhone over Android

Summary of article's point: Open beats closed once the market gets commoditized. GOOG made the mobile OS a commodity, meaning the smartphone is a commodity in short order. So is cellphone bandwidth. The winners are those who line up with the right biz model. You cant beat 'free' with a model based on high-cost proprietary innovation, unless it produces enough consumer value. Ergo, a large slice of the phone market will go 'Droid. iPhone may not lose too badly since they have a good brand, but smartphone will be the standard phone in a few years. Good article and I'm sorry so many AAPL fans feel the need to attack his points, which are valid.
And FWIW, I am seriously looking to buy a Droid.

... that's BOGUS.

Since Obama was elected in early November, the market has fallen over 15% to date. That's the real Obama factor. Investors and business owners are scared to death of America turning into a euro-socialist hellhole, but thats what Obama, Pelosi, Dodd, Frank and the other DC clowns want to do.

Any more "Obama factor" like that and we will be in the Great Depression 2.0.
