Gold and GLD is for fear minded doom and gloom the sky is falling chicken little's. My friend who is true gold bug claims gold will get strobger becuase of the weak dollar, but this is worldwide crisis, just lookout Fortis and B&B, so Euro currencies will suffer, there goes the hedge......if anyone beleives the US financial situation is at the brink of diaseter, yes horde gold, but even GLD ETF is the same wall streeter's who managed AIG and Lehman....when the price of gold corrects those ETF's will be forced to liquadatge reserves driving down the price.....supply vs. demand....
