Of the 1 trillion how much will be deleveraged on the USA. That number will give us an idea of how long WE are going to deal with this. Many country's wont deal with it much longer because they will default and that might still happen here but only after they have bankrupted every American that they can in the process. Paulson and Ben wont be going alone. If the dollar begins to drop in value again in any real significant amount it might not stop next time. First foreigner to cash out his treasury bonds and exchange them for his home country currency wins. If his country is not in default. All others will end up at the long line to cash out thier treasurys and then the second long line at the bank to exchange dollars for thier home currency. They could be loosing value by the minute as the dollor plunges. Now I am not hoping for the collapse of the dollar and I fear it will be at its most vulnerable when all the short term bonds start cashing out soon. What keeps everyone from cashing out thier long term bonds at the same time I do not know. They obviously will need to regain some of the losses from this would fiasco so why not then? When you see this situation start it will probably be to late to buy gold which I believe would be safer than the dollar. GOT GOLD!!!!!
