  • Washington's Dilemma: This Isn't a Recession, It's a Collapse [View article]
We need to return power to the states. Reduce the fed by about 2/3 and taxes by 2/3. Allow the states to run the programs. Hire displace fed employees to run the programs at the states. Citizens can then decide what programs are important to them in thier state and vote accordingly. Let the Fed deal with our security, international trade/relations and Federal highways. Leave the rest to the states. I know this is not all inclusive but it is the idea.

Why should a lower middle class citizen in Mississippi or Alabama send tax dollars to California to allow the state to hand out money to the poor that end up living better than the person in Mississippi or Alabama. Put a moratorium of one year before becoming eligible for state welfare to keep people from moving to the best welfare states.

If California wants to spend millions on the sea otters fine but do it with California dollars not other states dollars. We have our own state issues we want to fund.

Bailouts will never correct the overspending that has occurred in all of the govts, state, fed, county, municipality. A reset is needed and should be allowed to occur. Bailout the unemployed until the reset is finished. Let industry stand on thier own two feet or get swallowed up by the stronger. The end result is a stronger industry and new ideas creating new jobs.

  • How PHEVs and EVs Will Sabotage America's Drive for Energy Independence [View article]
Congress has sabotaged our opportunity for energy independence since the 70's oil crisis. Why can we go to the moon in a decade in the 60's (no doubt) but cant achieve energy independence in forty years.

    One word!!! Congress.

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Sprint Drops T-Mobile Bid And Replaces CEO [View article]
Senators want to make tax slaves out of companies and of course all of us citizens. NO!!! You my not leave. Where is the barbed wire and land mines? They can not perish the thought of giving up tax money to their croneys and lobbiests by God so payments will be demanded.

How much will this effect future business plans when determining location of headquarters. Bet we see fewer companies setting up shop here if the Dictator issues executive orders mandating the tax slaves not be spared.

  • Those Who Allege Debasement of the U.S. Dollar Need a History Lesson [View article]
We are headed for stagflation at this rate. Jobs are not improving in any meaningful way yet year on year commodity inflation is rampant.

Salaries will not keep up with the inflation being created because there is a huge oversupply of workers.

When the cost of food and fuel consumes ever increasing quantity's of household income I believe the retail market will tank even worse.

We are not out of the woods yet and I think we actually may be heading back in.

  • Is the U.S. Dollar the Fed's Next Weapon? [View article]
Don't they understand that as we debase the dollar the rest of the currencies will do what ever it takes to follow us. This would just be an acceleration of the race to the bottom for all of the currencies. No one can afford to have the highest valued currency.

"Fiat protectionism" if you will, that will have the same effect as closing boarders to trade during the great depression. The end result could be the total destruction of fiat.

A big game of every country playing chicken with their currencies. Who ever pulls up first suffers from their overpriced currency. Who ever pulls up last, well that's not gonna be good either.

  • Bernanke: Denying the Obvious [View article]
There is plenty of blame to go around but only the fed sets the rate that was the most necessary ingredient in this fiasco.

They deserve the most blame for without their low, low rates this could not have happened and I believe they know that loud and clear.

To deny any culpability is absurd and deserves the scorn that Peter has posted here.

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Must-Know News [View article]
I can't believe that contract law has to go all the way to the supreme court. Have we become a nation that ignores laws that have been in place for centuries because Washington says so.

Tossing out contract law to garnish additional votes demonstrates a new level of corruption in our political system.

We desperately need a third party.
