  • Inflation Premiums at Multi-Week Highs Suggest Breakout for Commodities [View article]
Like Larry House, I too went long today in energy and metals: Oil/Gas (COP), Silver (HL), Platinum/Palladium (SWC), Copper (TCK) and Brazil (EWZ).

Inflation is well underway, in spite of protestations to the contrary by the Fed.

Thanks Thomas, for that timely piece of clever research. As many folks banter about whether we are seeing deflation or inflation, it is data like this which can help narrow down the speculation.

    David,

I echo the appreciation for your charts and comments, as others have said, particularly when you show some issues with two (or three) different time intervals. It really assists my thinking for where things stand, and may be headed, and ultimately clarifies my planning.

And, I was surprised as well by Sen Judd Gregg, (R)NH taking the Comerce cabinet position. He is one of the best finance and business people in that body and we will miss his fine work there.

    Hey Ben Dinsmore...

Why do you feel sorry for folks who are already in retirement? We don't have to sweat a paycheck like you do. Most of us have executed our plan with sufficient income and safely invested nesteggs so we don't take big risks in equities or commodities like folks your age do. I'm sleeping very well the last couple of weeks.

However, I do agree with your feeling for those who are (were) getting close to retiring. Their schedule will probably be delayed some.
