'Socialism cannot compete' said, ".. Our federal government needs DRASTIC downsizing. It should only be performing a few functions anyway -- it is SO far from what was Constitutionally designated to it.."
and if left unchanged, the 'gubmint' will continue to move leftwards and grow ever larger, and more controlling of all our lives too. How do we, who care about freedoms and choices, stop this encroachment? I personally believe that the battle was lost when we let the NEA setup shop in all public schools decades ago and serve up leftist idealogy, and revisionist history to suit their agenda, to the future parents, workers, (and now) leaders of our country.
I echo the appreciation for your charts and comments, as others have said, particularly when you show some issues with two (or three) different time intervals. It really assists my thinking for where things stand, and may be headed, and ultimately clarifies my planning.
And, I was surprised as well by Sen Judd Gregg, (R)NH taking the Comerce cabinet position. He is one of the best finance and business people in that body and we will miss his fine work there.
Why do you feel sorry for folks who are already in retirement? We don't have to sweat a paycheck like you do. Most of us have executed our plan with sufficient income and safely invested nesteggs so we don't take big risks in equities or commodities like folks your age do. I'm sleeping very well the last couple of weeks.
However, I do agree with your feeling for those who are (were) getting close to retiring. Their schedule will probably be delayed some.
