2 Biotech Companies Making Considerable Strides When It Comes To Pain Management [View article]
1-2 years? try 6-8 months. There second part of there phase two trials for Z944 is only set to last 6-8 weeks. With positive results from these trials as well as post trials and advancement into phase 3 trials will send this stock well over 100% all of this will come to pass in the second and third quarters of this year. I do agree with you that Z944 will be a blockbuster and a multi bagger for ZLC$$$

So as expected the panel voted down zohydro due to the abuse factor. That is a huge area of focus that the company needed to emphasize more than they did. that is to improve the efficacy of non abuse. Companies such as Zalicus are most definitely headed in the right direction when it comes to responsibility and ensuring that all the loose ends are tied. That is precisely why back in September the company decided to discontinue their rheumatoid Arthritis drug candidate. To me that is a hard pill to swallow but is one that will ensure approvals in the future. Happy trading!

You take personal offense to every comment that questions a position you take. Are you really that sensative? And it is misleading because the way you word it makes it seem as though you are eluding that ZLCS has a 2.80-3.00 price target after this Friday. Just saying. Cheers

Why did you even mention Zalicus in this article? Zohydro is not even a prodict in ZLCS's pipeline.. In fact it belongs to Zogenix. I feel that mentioning that in association with Zalicus is very misleading...

Are you seriously comparing ZLCS and ACAD right now? one just released positive results on clinical phase trials and the other is still under study. One jumped over 200% and the other about 20%. How are the two even comparable? Furthermore the pipeline for Zalicus is extremely rich with a valuation much more than where Acadia stands now. Very poor analysis on all fronts.
Arena Pharmaceuticals (ARNA -3.6%) continues to give back some of the massive gains it enjoyed after the FDA approved its weight-loss drug Belviq. Orexigen, which surged on the news as well, is -4.7%. Vivus, though, (VVUS +1.5%) is still climbing ahead of an FDA decision on its Qnexa diet drug on July 17. [View news story]
It is true, VVUS will likely see another slash on their weight loss drug. And talk about the spike already being built into the current price... In my opinion VVUS is extremely overvalued. It's not long till this over heating stock plummets. with so many risk factors VVUS will likely be rejected and even if approved will have lot's of restrictions and post approval studies. either way I don't see this one moving anywhere but down. ARNA will got to about 15 per share pre FDA decision on QNEXA and if a rejection sticker is posted will jump to around 20 and cap off around 25. Happy hunting.

Chenza you are so wrong! Those results were from lab rats injected with extremely high doses of the drug. It wasn't until the drug was administered in an over dose fashion that the rats developed the tumors. Furthermore studies showed that when taking the proper dosage there were no issues concerning tumors or heart valve issues in humans. Also remember this drug is for OBESE people. As such the are already prone to these issues! It is misguided people like you that manipulate the market!
Orexigen Therapeutics (OREX +13.2%) soars again today on the back of the FDA's approval of Arena Pharmaceuticals (ARNA) Belviq weight loss drug. JPMorgan ups the stock to Overweight, saying it "stands to be the biggest beneficiary" as approval for its own weight loss drug, Contrave, is still far off, which leaves a valuation gap with rivals whose drugs are closer to approval. [View news story]
If VVUS is rejected or delayed ARNA investors will be in a very good position. Judging from the looks of things that's a pretty good possibility

Chemist, do you think that the shorts will "be able to strike again" I feel that there is no room for another bear raid on this stock. Although today was pretty disappointing.

I would not be surprised if VVUS is rejected yet again. Sure it may be a better drug, but its also a bigger risk. And when going before the FDA you want as little risk as possible!
