McDonald's vs. Burger King - The Alpha Hamburger [View article]
MCD outperformed during the panic of '08 but has been lagging in '09 and missed out entirely on the mid-summer run-up of most other stocks.
The entire group is lagging the S&P. Perhaps YUM is the best bet.
I'm an industry analyst chiefly on the strength of my daily visits to these restaurants. I agree with the author that MCD is for kids and BKC appeals more to me as an adult. I never related it to the mayonaise vs. ketchup. I related it to the mushy meat and soft buns at MCD vs. the tougher grilled meat at BKC along with a sesame bun. If either of them want to really appeal to an adult, try a thicker patty grilled with less bun, ketchup and mayonaise.
Private Equity, Business Flipping and Asymmetrical Outcomes [View article]
"So here is the story in simple terms, and yes I am simplifying for the hard core capitalists out there who defend our beautiful system."
Thank you Mr. Mark.
I love these rants. Keep it up, although for time purposes and for my fellow capitalists, you could condense the articles and simplify them a little more.
The thing is, I agree with 90% of what you write, except for the bottom line, the conclusion of the story, in which you write...
No wait. There was no conclusion, just a rant.
Now helping you out, wouldn't the conclusion be: Put Obama's Tsars in charge and that will fix everything?
Burger King: $1 Double Cheeseburger May Change the Game [View article]
This doublecheeseburger is not a gamechanger. Wendy's sells one right now for a dollar. By the way, I think the dollar items are great values, greater than the stocks.
