  • RIM: Research In Motion Pays A Bounty For Apps As It Approaches D-Day [View article]
Why do you think its relevant to use sales of a soon to be obsolete device, BB7? Rear view analyst on BB10 has no bearing and makes your argument irrelevant. Your Palm comparison is weak given that Palm had less than 10% of the cash that RIM has. Your developer argument is offbase given that BB10 will have more apps than BB7.

  • Research in Motion (RIMM) +6.7% premarket after getting another upgrade from Jefferies' Peter Misek, this time to Buy with price target of $19.50 (from $13). The new BB10 OS will enable corporate email on iOS and Android devices, he says - something the market is unaware of. In the most bullish scenario, he puts a $56 price target on the stock vs. a previous $43. [View news story]
$56? Some people stand to make a lot of money. Lets see what RIM announces on Jan 30.

  • Research In Motion - The Future Isn't In BB10, It's In Mobile Payment [View article]
Since when is effective management of working capital balance sheet manipulation? Take note, BB7 devices have been on a decline so naturally you want to keep inventory low and secondly I commend RIM for their management of its current assets given they need cash on hand to manufacture, market and deploy BB10. How you turn this into a negative is beyond me but then again bears are bears.

  • RIM's Cash, RIM's Flow, RIM's Apps Grow [View article]
RIM is trading 70% of its book value, Apple 400%. If BB10 is indeed a success then there is huge upside on RIM.

    Excellent comment Frank.

The Palm comparison is getting old and rather ridiculous as Frank mentioned Palm had nothing near the installed base that RIM has plus Palm only had $250 million in cash, RIM has 2.9 Billion.

I beg to differ, RIM has an excellent chance to carve itself a nice portion of the market, BB10 is that good and you will see for yourself very soon.
