Nortel and Palm were hemorrhaging and died. RIM is strong and viable, even during these terrible quarters RIM was still profitable.

That's where the "analyst " are so wrong. RIM will earn an EPS of at least 1.5 in the quarter that BB10 is released. The big question will be what will sales be after the initial launch.
Some of the estimates border on the ridiculous, especially the 2014 fiscal year, give me a break, most can't forecast the current economic year let alone two years out.

And my point is you have to analyze all aspects on an enterprise to give a intelligent opinion. My comment on revenue was to the post who proclaimed RIM is finished, my bad I should have included a comment on RIM's strong balance sheet as well.

That's a good question, my holdings won't be influenced by the share price movement until BB10 then I'll reevaluate my position. If you hold RIM south of $20 I believe your investment is safe. Worse case scenario RIM is sold and they'll get $20 plus.

So tuck away your shares and don't get caught up with the daily movement, it will take time for shareholders to get a return on investment.

So true, holding AAPL has been great however I feel comfortable holding RIM at these levels. It's been beaten down but it has large fan base and I get a sense former BlackBerry users will climb on board with BB10 and most will be Android users.

You can't be serious? Comparing Lehman to RIM. Lehman was over leveraged up to its ying yang. If you want to debate RIM as a going concern then offer some legitimate points.

RIM's 4th quarter loss was attributed to a goodwill impairment and inventory writedown. In the same quarter RIM generated over $600 million of free cash, the same could not be said of Nokia.

I have to disagree Apple's latest iPad and iPhone had marginal improvements however they didn't need anything revolutionary they have excellent traction with consumer and byod has been great for them.

I've owned AAPL and RIM off and on for the last three years. Tech stocks are not for the faint of heart. I sold AAPL last month and now I am back in, time to lock in the profit. I've held RIM since Christmas, holding shares of a company below tangible book value is a no brainer.

So you believe it was Heins decision to release a half baked PlatBook?
Will iPhone have the same incremental improvements like the new iPad?

Well you don't know, all you can do is speculate.

RIM doesn't need to outsell iPad or Galaxy to be profitable

During that same time revenue was $20 Billion and $18.5 Billion. I guess those figures represent a company that is finished.

RIM has nothing to release, re-writing code from BB7 to BB10 take time, they have one shot at this and they have to get it right. Sorry if my point hit a nerve but what I am trying to say is that RIM has nothing relevant to show that is news worthly other than BB10. So instead of being silent over the next six months or more RIM can start the marketing now, give the public some information leading up to the release.
A product is only late if you give it a date, RIM hasn't said when it will be released only later in the year, and they reaffirmed that at BBWC futhermore the CEO said it won't be released until the whole platform is ready.
