"and continued innovation in the hand of Jobs and his team of geniuses" Jobs is gone and who are these geniuses that will continue with his legacy? Cook?

"RIM losing market share, losing competitiveness, no ideas and no new products, was losing to fierce competition"

yet they increased their customer base, lets turn this around a bit lets just say Apple is scrapping iOS and will have a new and better OS for its iPhone and current phones won't upgradeable to the new OS what do you think would happen to iphone sales?
and you don't think BB10 with its peek and flow UI and hub is not a new product?

"I think the loss of customers will affect sales of the new BB10."
RIM only had 55million customers in 2010, they now have 80+million your math doesn't add up.

I understand you're bearish on RIM but please if you're going to quote facts please do so truthfully.

and that's where the risk/reward analogy comes from. If RIM is successful with BB10, and I think they will, the reward will be much greater than what Apple can do. I personally think Apple is undervalued right now so there is upside with both stocks.

Apspice, you and everyone will soon see what RIM is up to, reserve your judgment on RIM until January 30th. When you're the leader in enterprise its only natural that you'll lose customers here and there but in RIM's case their slow adoption to an all touch device was glacier slow and Android and iOS KO'd RIM in the consumer segment however that is going to change with BB10. I'm not implying that RIM will "leapfrog " Apple and Samsung but RIM will have a formidable device.

I agree that Apple is cheap right now, at least I hope so. Your comment that investors of RIM are gamblers is over the top it may be this isane battle between smatphone users that's clouding your judgement. On a pure financial basis RIM is cheap, below its tangible book value. Just on a liquidation scenario RIM would attract greater than 10ps. Obviously RIM will never liquidate, one of Microsoft, Apple or Google would acquire it for a lot more, than its current MV. However with what I have seen of BB10 RIM is in a good position to regain market share and return to profitability.

Thanks, sometimes you need patience to be successful and I have learned from past mistakes that being impatient can cost you money but I'll admit it that it's been frustrating reading all the negative articles, some legitimate but most baseless without any knowledge of the facts, and how the market reacted to the news but given what I know I've always felt secure about my investment so much so that I increased my position last month.

Seems Apple was down and out at one point, those shareholders who saw the potential were rewarded handsomely the same may happen to RIM and I'm not kidding.

Do some financial analysis and pull together all the news available on BB10 and ask yourself is RIM only worth 40% BV? If you say yes, stay clear of it otherwise make a sound investment soon.

Since when has Forbes been able to predict the future, do they have a crystal ball?

I agree, AAPL will get back to $700 but the wild card will be how successful BB10 will be. If it gains market share in the US then $700 may be the ceiling for Apple, 2013 will be an exciting year.
