"With the major U.S. investment banks gone or turned into commercial banks, SA's Daniel Harrison says the Japanese banking connection may be the way for U.S. banks to obtain higher risk/rewards since all major U.S. banks are now constrained by conditions set under the U.S. government bailout."
LOWER risk-to-reward might be a worthwhile goal.
I have to say that sloppy journalism and uncritical repetition by media of much propaganda has been part of the problem in this crisis-certainly not part of the solution. The collusion between investment banks and the media has been none too subtle the past month. Moreover, there is the appearance that investment banks and some money managers learned that the first "bailout" vote would fail before the general public did, and trampled a lot of small individual investors in their rush to the fire exits. Andrew Snyder's comments are not very helpful in stabilizing our country right now.
