  • Can BlackBerry Shoot For $20? [View article]
I have been dying to comment on this John but wanted the poor BB souls to have a little joy while this short party lasts. Citrons ingratiatingly, over the top, article in praise of Blackberry is comical. With Big Blue Balloons, cheesy Clip Art and oversized fonts absolutely shouting an unlimited windfall (trillions and trillions) set to rain down on Waterloo. To prove it, Citron says, just look at Apple and Google who just purchased Nest and Beats for 3 billion+ ea. Commendable foresight for the behemoths who stupidly missed a chance to own (the master of it all) Blackberry, only months ago and for a ha-penny more.

C'mon fellas...do you really think Citron is so enamoured with Blackberry's prospects that it has become the opposite of what it actually is? Citron knows exactly where Blackberry is going and they are set to make er....millions and millions... doing what they do best.

  • BlackBerry And Amazon: This Could Be The Beginning Of A Beautiful Friendship [View article]
To be honest I live in Toronto where they say BB is loved and I have seen one in the last year. A Z30 a guy had in Starbucks. Go to any Cellphone store and they dont even have any in stock.mAsk for one and you'll get a bewildered look. Of course this is anecdotal from both of us. I have an Android and couldn't care less....however...

Windows phones ARE the fastest growing smartphone. Google it. The link I provided is one of thousands. This is common knowledge. As far as BB phones go, no need to look for links, just ask the company.

  • BlackBerry Could See $10 After Earnings [View article]
Mr. K...I nearly fell over when CIW charged someone else with being in Pretend Land. These BB forums have now reached a level of insanity not seen in the natural world. It doesnt even matter if they go bankrupt. These folks will be in a padded room somewhere, twitching and mumbling to themselves..."we're the best, i swear, we're the best. The Z30, the storm, the torch, the playbook, i love Thorsten, Prem, Chen ...we dont need toys, we need stickers....how about the NEW iOS...the Internet of Stickers. ;-)

    Charge on my friend.

It is astonishing that you guys are using Warren Buffet as a pro argument for Blackberry. If you suggested he buy their stock based on his own principals, he would implode on the spot!

Ahhh Mr. K...you must go easy on the delusional...their moat chock full of Black Swans. There is a fable that does fit BB perfectly however. The Emperor's New Clothes. There is simply nothing there.

  • Market Prediction System Predicts Bumpy Road Ahead For BlackBerry [View article]
Here is what else Prem Watsa said only one year ago today:

"Blackberry Z10 is unbelievably popular and it is attracting about 30 percent to 40 percent of other smartphone users"

"We think the fair value is around 40 something"

"Thorstein Heinz did an “amazing job in turning around the company.”

"We shipped 6 million last quarter, 1 million new phones and they are already profitable".

More delusionial hope from the Blackberry faithful. Your chart is somewhat out of date Mr. Blair. As of this date (Not 2013), Blackberry retains just 4% of the Indonesian market. Couple that with your (correctly pointed out 30%-only a year ago) numbers and it is easy to see that Indonesia (like the rest of the world) have forgotten Blackberry. BTW...Indonesia was never in love with BB but rather coveted the Free communication via BBM. Texting is ubiquitous now and Indos (in droves) have moved on to Android. Why wouldnt they? Cheaper, better, faster & Apps (the kind you can download in 30 seconds (w/o a computer & APKs & that actually work...fancy that?)

Also...Im really enjoying that new 1.1mg. front facing camera BB through in on the Z3. They could have skimped with the 1mg. sensor but NO......Chou, Chen...way to go Boys....Go BB....Long!!!!

  • The BlackBerry Z3 Jakarta Is A Hit In Indonesia [View article]
How is it silly to ask the number of sales rather than the generic "Sold Out"?
What is truly Silly is using this term as a positive for Z3 sales. This "Sold Out" fellow has a cousin known as "Out of Stock". Transcend Asset (a God to BB bulls) recently published an article using the term Black Swan suggesting the Z30 was a hit because it was "Out of Stock" He stated this as though they are so successful, they cant keep them in stock. A simple visit to a store that carries the Z30 got this response..."We are out of stock because nobody buys or inquires about them and Blackberry hasnt even shipped any to us in the past 3 months"

I would not be disappointed if the Z3 did well but Im certain it wont. Any company that proudly announces (as a benefit) a 1.1mg front facing camera for $200 should and will be soundly rejected. BTW..why even mention the .1? Is there some advantage Im missing over the 1mg sensor? Now thats Silly!

With every respect Sir...your analysis is absurd and frankly comical. This generic "Sold Out" term along with its close cousin "Out of Stock" needs confronting.

Simple question. How Many Z3s sold since the launch? Did each store have 5 or 50000? No other company (Apple, Samsung) uses the generic, Sold Out or Out of Stock garbage.... they give us numbers and large ones at that.

Furthermore, if they were Sold Out as the author claims Blackberry and more importantly, Foxconn are inept for their inability to both read their customer demand and to resupply quickly. Isnt this why Foxconn is there in the first place?

The photos you supply are just plain silly. They show a very small group of (uninspired looking people) with no certainty that they are even buying Z3s. Even if they are, the photo is completely insignificant.

If they were Truly Sold Out in the manner that this article is trying to convey...John Chen would be screaming it from mountaintops the world over. If they were selling in any meaningful way...we would all know the exact number right now.

...and how many people are using the Z30 Ellas? It would seem to me (based on users), the iphone is the best phone on the planet. My question is in earnest though. Do you know (have any idea) how many Z30 users there are (on the planet) right now?

  • Loeb exits Yahoo/BlackBerry/Activision in Q1, buys into Avago/Citrix [View news story]
Now he's the bad guy?...he sure got a lot of sheep to follow him when he bought Blackberry. The BB bulls (er sheep) were all Bah Bahing each other with great big pats on the back. By almost everyones opinion here on SA, this genius knew what he was doing when he bought in at approx. $10 per. He now leaves with a 30% haircut and the same logic no longer applies. We are going to need some in depth and multi parted (Part 1, 2, 3) articles to explain this one away.
