What Stocks Were Hiding in the Clintons' Blind Trust? [View article]
It looks like the Clinton's have been doing well in the stock market. I would like to know who is making their investments. Does anyone know anything more about Biogen Idec?
Unusually High Institutional Ownership Stocks [View article]
I am interested to see if there is any effect on the stocks that have such a large ownership. At first thought, it would seem that these stocks could be less volatile as the large institutions do not sell in and out as often as individual investors. But on the flip side, when they do buy in and out, there is usually a larger swing in the direction they are moving. Keep us posted.
Web 2.0 and OS Licensing: Apple, Microsoft Get With the Program [View article]
I would have to disagree in many regards. While more and more applications are being pushed to the web, I don't see how probable it will be for people to start using Zoho and Google for excel and word type applications. Now, individuals may start to use the free web based apps as a way of saving money, but how well do they integrate with MS Office? Companies are not going to risk losing or not being able to share these types of documents to people outside their office. Businesses are run off of these applications. Maybe this is where companies may go in the future, but not anytime soon, at least not significantly. You are talking about having the majority of the workforce, if not all of the workforce, switch from something that they all know how to use, to an application on the internet that may or may not be secure and is not the program that they are efficient in, nor is it an application that is widely used and accepted. Microsoft has what you call, Network Externalities. Too many people count on their software for someone to easily be able to come in and erode that market share. Even Apple uses MS Office.

NYSE Group Posts Impressive Earnings - But Where's the Long-Term Value? [View article]
Great comments here. I would say that both of you are right on the money. There are too many barriers for small players to come in and take a large piece of the pie. And as Anad mentioned, there is a lot of consolidation in this industry, but he didn't mention Euronext. NYSE is going to be the first Trans-Atlantic exchange, and now they are looking to be Global. As you might have noticed, there has been a large push for exchanges to go public or to merge with other exchanges. I don't see there being any short term major consolidation as this is something that will take time and regulatory approval. So 3 - 5 years is a great time frame for higher growth, though there might be more growth further than 5 years out.

Is It Safe to Declare the Winner of the Latest Game Console Battle? [View article]
Steven,
Great article. I just came across it on FeedTheBull and read the full article here. Thanks for sharing all of the data you have collected. It is suprising how well the Wii is doing, as like you mentioned, it was far under the radar. You mentioned that it is outselling the PS3 2:1, how is it doing against the Xbox 360? Keep up the great work.

Dean,
I just read your article on FeedTheBull and I thought it was interesting. Do you see the phone being used for things outside of what a phone is typically used for, such as a remote control as Thomas suggests? Can you give us some more links to articles that you have read on this technology?
The Long Case for Western Union: Like Wiring Money Into Your Portfolio [View article]
Hilary,
I just saw your article and was impressed. I have been a fan of Western Union for a long time. US has had an incredible growth in Hispanic immigrants, and Western Union has been able to take advantage of that rising population. If they could capitalize China and India the way they have in Latin America, a $30 valuation is just the beginning. Unfortunately, I think the stock has been suppressed die to the recent comments by President Bush and his thoughts on an increased border patrol. But you are right, with the democrats coming to power; this could be a great place to get in the stock.
Do you keep a track record of Cramers picks at all? See when he is off and when he is right on about a stock? As well as how much more he is on than off? FeedTheBull members would love to see that data.
XM-Sirius Merger Talk: Defining The Competitive Landscape [View article]
Eric,
Great article. There has been a lot of talk about the potential merger of XM and SIRI. My personal opinion is that it would make sense for the companies to combine. Neither one of them will be successful if they continue to spend thousands of dollars trying to recruit new subscribers. You should check out FeedTheBull, there are a lot of articles on this topic with a lot of opinions. You might find something interesting in there. Keep up the great work.
Microsoft's Intrinsic Value Is Even Greater Than I Thought [View article]
Please tell me what your intrinsic value model looks like. Because I am curious how you went from $9 billion in cash to $31.8 billion in cash and your intrinsic value only increased by $2.39 to $27.39.
