Just finished reading Mehmet vs PayPal, for which a proposed scheduling order was entered 12/12. This lawsuit is very detailed and will win big. I wanted to pass on the most interesting part in case it helps someone.

Paypal's anti-fraud software generates false positives for fraud, It has filters in place that generates a false positive when funds are received, then transferred TOO QUICKLY to a third party bank. (#38) i.e. you get paid and immediately transfer the money to your account. This will generate the false positive, which in turn will probably limit your account.

This lawsuit is very credible and I have personal knowledge of most of the allegations. Case is 08-01961 ND of CA. You will need Pacer to pull up the docket. Anyone screwed by Paypal will love reading it as it is very detailed and precise on how we all know Paypal operates.

Anyway.....I knew of the false positives, but not the immediate transfer filter. This fits with the seizures I am aware of. Wait a while if you can!!!

I don't know if it is run it up, win and don't pay or if just run it up for the other buyers. Anyone else getting this information ? You should review bidding history !!!! Probuyer says:

Is it such a difficult concept to grasp - that commerce is about keeping BUYERS happy, not sellers?

Rather than bickering with all, do you truly want to test that theory and see how safe you are ? If interested, I will supply you the Ebay seller, rating, item you just bought and why you just got screwed. The seller got screwed and the seller is not HAPPY and the buyer will be less happy. Granted only 15 FB, 100% positive, close to perfect DSR's, but all FB is on similar products to what you just bought, which is Quickbooks software.

Bam your $1000 shopping savings took a $300 hit, due to ignorance of Ebay/Paypal policies. If you are also a seller BAM, your DSR's took a hit because your seller is not happy and chose to let the Ebay platform pay.

.Don't want to waste either's time, but if interested I will supply specific information, emails etc to support and walk you thru a real time scenario, still in progess. Your choice, but no bickering/insults back and forth. A yes or no will suffice.

Anyway, it's up to you....no big deal, just looking at realtime, supportable education for someone intent on disruption based on ignorance and Ebay luck so far.

You really should agree to the tutorial. You will not question authenticity, when I'm done.

No challenge,,,,,,,,,just fact. Let me know

Yes a deal was cut. Read these reviews and explain how mega seller buy maintains a 99.6 positive at Ebay. I've never seen so many 1 stars.

    Pricegrabber 3mos 1.87 out of 5
    6mos 2.19 out of 5
    All 4.20 out of 5

Service has declined dramatically last 6 months at Pricegrabber, but skyrockets at Ebay ???????????????

    reviews.pricegrabber.c.../

All other venues 50-89% positive. Bad enough to get a timeout on Ebay.

I wanted to pass along the latest Paypal scam. This demonstrates Paypal's complete lack of regard for the buyer or seller. If your Paypal account is limited/frozen, you can no longer refund to buyers on items you did not ship. Even if you recommend the buyer file a dispute, the refund link is still disabled. The buyer will have to wait til the dispute process completes in 20-30 days and then who knows what happens with their money. Below is from a Paypal email dated 11/24. They have the funds and will not allow the seller to refund. The seller refuses to ship as Paypal has the money. The big loser is the buyer.

Thanks for contacting PayPal. I appreciate the opportunity to assist you
    with your questions.

You have a limitation on your account at the present time. If you go to
the Resolution Center in your PayPal account it will walk you through
the steps to lift the limitation. Until you do so, you will not be able
    to refund your Buyers.

I appreciate the opportunity to assist you. We are committed to making
your experiences at PayPal pleasant and rewarding.

P.S. The limitation was imposed after a simple increase in sales and is pending a laundry list of documents and might or might not be lifted after receipt. Seller refuses to even offer SSN as Paypal is not a bank. Won't use Ebay/Paypal again. Amount buyers out is $775.

Thugs and thieves is all they are.

I know this thread is dead, but wanted to pass along the latest Paypal scam. This is the worst yet, as there is no regard for the buyer. J Donahoe

Just curious on your angle ? Your initial comments ripped Ebay and Donahoe and now you are a Poser extolling Ebay accomplishments as if you are the guy. What's up ? What happened to you on 09/16/08 ? Did Donahoe take over your body ?

  • eBay Buyer Incentives Are Not a Good Bargain [View article]
Treesalt....thanks for taking time out of your busy day.

You seem like a "how to" Guru and I am just curious if the new rules will impact your business ? When you tell someone how easy it is to sell on Ebay and you will teach them.....but.... bear in mind you will need to sell your product, ship it at your expense, then wait 21 days to see if you get your money from Paypal. What reaction do you get ? Then you tell them that is only for your first year. What reaction do you get ? Are you going to run out of pupils that would benefit from you knowledge ?

123.....Apparently you are a remedial reader or speak without doing your homework. Good luck if you are trying to short. You may point out each part of my post you did not understand, in fact you may even make a checkmark below:

New Paypal 21 day hold policy on funds for new sellers=0 New Sellers.

New policies on current sellers regarding DSR's and suspension of same etc...= significant loss of curent sellers

The new first ever partnership between Ebay and buy.com, whom has a megasite called buy.com. Using Ebay w/payment via Paypal is hit and miss on either Seller or Buyer Protection. Read the fine print ! You wait 30 days, try to resolve with either for 60 days and exceed the time limit for CC chargeback. Paypal represents themselves....do a Google search and you will see. Why would anyone keep Ebay/Paypal as a middleman, when you can buy direct. Would you ? Only if you have Ebay stock...right ?

How can a company establish growth by listing a competitor's inventory ? And listing it at the same price ? Ebay buyers are supposed to be savvy and will peg it down and figure out it is easier to go to buy.com.

So....SKIP EBAY AND GO TO buy.com !!!!! Save a step.

Also...let's simplify the equation for all the experts:

99% of new sellers cannot sell and wait 21 days to see if they get their money from Paypal = 0 New Sellers.

Current policies and changes = significant decrease in Current Sellers.

I agree Ebay doesn't feel they need these sellers, but why in the world would I buy from buy.com using Ebay/Paypal when I can go to the buy.com website and retain all of my credit card consumer bill of rights = You do the math.

    Only time will tell

Here’s some food for thought ?? How does Ebay’s new partner buy.com maintain a 99.6% positive rating, when they are about 50% at Pricegrabber and other venues. Is there a pot o feedback cooking somewhere ? And yes you should resign.
