Katanga Mining Falters Amidst Change and Instability

Katanga would have been a tremendously better investment- a real goldmine to mint for years had it been in any developed country. Things move slow over there and there is no rule of law, from policeman to politicians almost all work on "Talk Time" (money for any work they are officially supposed to do BUT it is DRC or Zaire)

For investors with risk appetite, DRC is a good destination as rewards do go in line with risk. High rewards for high risk!

Equinox Gets Back on Track

EQN is no doubt a good company with modern technology and socially acceptable project in Zambia. However, one shall not overlook one big constraint- the copper content is the lowest than any other copper mining company operating in Zambia. Having said that, with currrent copper prices coupled with it exploring further reserves in Zambia and uranium stocks it is sitting on, the share shall go up in first half of 2009. In the meantime, political uncertainty might bring an opportunity to buy the share as it might go down. Clouds will be clear by first half of next year as will be credit cruch crisis in the USA and world economies.
