  • Bank of America Continues to Stand Strong [View article]
I hope you're right about BAC. Although I've research Bank of America extensively also, the thing that worries me is the hidden toxicity of Merrill. ML has and will continue to be a tough company to swallow for B of A.

  • Year-End Buyouts: Big Challenges for the Big Banks [View article]
Both of these companies are going to have a very rough next few years. Keeping an over-sized merger together, not to mention profitable, in these harsh economic times is going to be a struggle.

I really don't picture Thain becoming CEO of the new B of A. He needs to either retire or go to a different financial company to find an executive position because people think of him and Merrill falling as synonymous. It would not bode well for Bank of America.

  • Three Financial Stocks Worth Holding [View article]
    THESE ARE GREAT STOCKS!

I couldn't have picked a better 3 financial stocks to buy. JPM is the cream of the crop; I believe they will come out of this crisis ahead of everyone else. Wells is a solid company that has a great opportunity to expand with its Wachovia ownership. If Bank of America can get this Merill acquisition sorted out, it could work out very well for the capital markets, investment banking, and wealth management areas that B of A has lacked in.

I have come up with a list of 3 Stocks to Buy before Christmas on my site at:
    investorpitstop.com/fi...

They are stocks that if you hold, you will outperform most investors.

I know JPM, BAC, and WFC will do extremely well if they are held for two to three years. Good luck everyone!

  • Who Is Now Number One in the Banking Industry? [View article]
You can't simply blame the Presidents and Execs of these fallen companies. Many of them didn't know or understand the investments their subordinates had taken on.

The complexity of these assets are so deep that they can't even put a value on the securities, nor do they know what all the security represents.

Complexity makes companies easier to fail, the vast webs they create can be at the expense of their own demise.
