Healthcare 'Debate' Dominated by Shouting and Lobbies [View article]
Would Have Been Nice If This Had Been Followed In Relation To Banking And Finance.
Healthcare 'Debate' Dominated by Shouting and Lobbies [View article]
I Concur Wholeheartedly !!!
I fear that these points are just "The Teasers" - I am worried about what gets added in the "Details And Earmarks".
I have seen enough reprehensible legislature passed - I would prefer a hiatus and a sussing out of a plan along with some "Failure Modes Analysis".
We Have The Internet Now - Government Should Put The "Letter" Of The Bill Up And Let The Debate Begin. Revise And Continue.

The "Cause" of this "Debt Crisis" Is The 600 Trillion Unregulated Derivatives Market.
The Housing Issue Was Only The "Fuse" set in place by the Community Reinvestment Act.
Many Americans Are "Victims Of Circumstance" At This Point.
Anger And Ire Should Be Shown To Those Involved In This Fraudulent Scheme - Government Enablers Included.

Yes, the factors that contribute to the "Wacked Out Cost" in the health care sector do need to be addressed. I, However, Have no trust that "Representatives" who do not read, and also "Earmark The Heck Out Of", the bills they pass into law - Will have any true fix when it is done; the higher probability is "A Worse System" because of neglected "Failure Modes Analysis".
The Foolery I See In DC Gives No Confidence For Rational Solution. I would be more comfortable if those here at Seeking Alpha designed a "System" and submitted it; At least many here understand the "Factors" if not the "Magnitude".
Alignment Of Interest - Is The Key To Any Successful Contract.
Without "Skin In The Game" for all parties involved there is a higher probability of failure.
"Government Run" removes, rather than adds, alignment of interest. "Regulatory Framework" Is The Only Purpose Of Government. As All Well Know - Government Entities Are Not Allowed To Fail And Thus Can Not Be Replaced Even If They Become Corrupted And Inefficient.
Having Experienced "Government Run" With The VA Hospitals I Can Knowledgeably Inform That - Yes Health Care Is "Provided". However - The "Cattle Feel" Is Pervasive. I am a medically discharged veteran and have "Run The Gauntlet". It Is Not Necessarily The "People" It Is "DEFINITELY THE BUREAUCRACY" that makes the most issues.
What Ever System Is Designed It MUST Be Kept Out Of The "Government Realm" Or There Will Be No Recourse When It Either Does Not Work Or It Fails Through Corruption.
