Capturing Higher Distribution Growth in MLPs [View article]
Take ETP/ETE for example... can you enlighten us on how much the distributions to ETP shareholders will slow going forward and in turn how much they will grow for ETE shareholders, since the threshold has been reached? I am trying to wrap my head around this with some concrete numbers...

FYI-- "Javascript" is not the Java programming language. It is an entirely different thing. Not even related, really.

cap and trade won't put $billions of taxes on the utilities because the utils will just push it off on to the consumer in the form of higher rates. -- cap and trade will effectively raise all individuals' taxes. "I will not raise taxes 95% of you!" -- yeah right.

Just like the failed HUN deal, Rohm will get a nice cash termination fee when all is said and done. Not the nice buyout at a lofty price they would have gotten, but nice none the less.
I heard Obama is putting off getting a new puppy for the White House until spring so he can make sure it's kid friendly, easy going, and pays its taxes.
Update on TippingPoint -- is COMS going to spin it off? It's new president is the same guy who was president of Palm when COMS spun it off in 1999. www.stockdata.org/tag/.../
Nice article. This further advances my opinion that COMS remains a buyout candidate, despite the Bain thing that fell through.
A big problem to a merger is still the China connection, as Bain proved. They are a nice cherry to pick, but US companies are out I guess? My thoughts on COMS at: www.stockdata.org/2008.../

Akamai: Why Charge More for Streaming Video Delivery vs. HTTP Delivery? [View article]
Just because someone else charges less for something does not mean you cannot charge more for it and still succeed. Ever heard of these brands: Clorox? Kleenex? As long as you are comparing apples and oranges, so will I.
Having said that, Akamai indeed is in trouble, and you are right on some of your points. Their biz plan should be adjusted and maybe the pricing model is one way to attack it.

Answer: the Gov gets less revenue from gas taxes. Hundreds of millions less.
uh-oh.
Ponder that....
Either gas taxes go must go up *anyway*, or the Gov will tax you some other way.
Either way, you will be taxed more. No way around it.
