  • Nomura thinks gold prices have reached a near-term equilibrium, making it a good time to try for a bounce in gold mining stocks (GDX). As a result, its analysts upgrade Randgold (GOLD -6%) to Neutral from Reduce, African Barrick  to Buy from Reduce, and Polymetal to Buy from Neutral. But the firm doesn't expect the good times to last, as it sees sellers dominating again by Q4 and sending gold prices down. [View news story]
Here we go again, some talking head telling people to buy gold when the trend is still DOWN. Sell your gold, be patient and wait to buy back at $950-$1000 for your bounce. Then watch it go down to $800. The only thing you'll be doing here is helping some gold bull get out of his position on a bounce.

  • "It's hard to buy something down 80%," writes Mebane Faber, but it may not be a bad time to do just that. The average 3-year return since 1920 when buying a sector lower by 80% from a peak is 172%, according to his research - think tech in 2002, homebuilders in 2009, and junior gold miners (GDXJ) today (gold miners GDX or RING are off nearly that amount). The returns are similarly enticing for entire industries and countries - think Greece (GREK) today. [View news story]
I would never buy gold here. It's going much lower and there's no reason to own it now. Look at who is telling you to buy it here. It's always someone that is holding gold and losing money everyday.

  • Why The Newest Short Thesis On Arena Is Dead Wrong And Should Be Ignored [View article]
Excuse me, but not to be rude...did anyone notice the CEO of Eisai? I would consider him obese. How do you sell a drug for weight control when you are over weight? He's had plenty of time to test this drug on himself. It doesn't say much for the drug and does not look good for ARNA.

  • The Street's Adam Feuerstein makes 13 biotech stock predictions for 2013, with his number one being that the U.S. launch of Arena Pharmaceuticals' (ARNA) and Eisai's weight-loss pill Belviq "will be a major disappointment." Feuerstein also reckons that Belviq will fail to receive European approval. [View news story]
It's unfortunate that anyone can say anything about a company without any facts to back it up. This guy has been negative regarding ARNA from the start and mostly wrong. My 2013 prediction regarding AF is he will lose his job due to stock manipulation and taking bribes and ARNA will get bought out by Johnson and Johnson. Hey, just a prediction.

Jefferies lowered ARNA's price target down to $14 from $20. Still rates it a buy. That probably didn't help.

Forget how many prescriptions are's how many prescriptions are filled. I read over a third have not been filled. That's not good. I'm a glass half full kind of person. Unfortunately, I'm beginning to think this is a glass half empty.

Manny, Buy VVUS at 18 or less? This is way less then I expected. How much less, it's in the 14's?

  • Arena Buyout Rumors Are Overblown [View article]
    Hi Spencer,

I saw nothing negative in your article. Everything you said made perfect sense. I am always open, interested and appreciative in other peoples thoughts. The more I learn the better I can trade and make the right choices. Thank you for your information, it all helps.

  • Arena Buyout Rumors Are Overblown [View article]
I think Spencer makes sense. He's just saying to be realistic...he's not bashing ARNA. Today VVUS got downgraded. They believe the doctors will prescribe the two generic drugs instead of their weight loss drug. This is good news for ARNA. Eventually people will realize Arena's drug does make the most sense and has the most potential in the future.

  • Cramer's Lightning Round - Apple Will Be A Fantastic Stock For 2013 (7/13/12) [View article]
JC is a joke. He's nothing more then a carnival barker. Anyone that listens to him is making a big mistake. JC is all about JC and his "charitable trust". I'd like to see how charitable his trust is. When CNBC took Dan Dorfman off the was best thing they ever did. Then they replaced him with this clown. Wake up CNBC. Just my opinion.

  • Vivus: A New Twist On The Qnexa Story [View article]
Phem, please note that these are only opinions here. Nothing is set in stone. This is my take why an insider might sell their shares before the FDA's decision. I've been trading since 1994, and I've also seen it all. These guys do whatever they want, including Cramer, they all have an agenda. We're insignificant compared to the big players. Everyday they float roamers to try and manipulate a one ever calls them on it. This has been going on for years. So my crystal ball says...who knows what's going to happen on the 17th. I however feel it will be delayed, so I would be careful. You make your own choices. I like hearing other people thoughts and opinions who are retail invistors without agenda's. The more information the better.

Cramer needs to look at the side effects of his rants. And the reason why the Pres. sold his shares is simple...Qnexa will either be delayed or not approved on the 17th.

OMG...are you kidding me. There is NO ONE more emotional then Jim (Dan Dorfman) Kramer. Had he been calm after his "contest" when talking about ARNA, maybe people wouldn't have been so disgusted with him. He made like he is the only one that knows about stocks and taking profits. He also bashed ARNA with in correct information. That is why people think he is the next Dan Dorfman. If you don't know who he him and see how he left CNBC.
