Treasury bonds are one of the few perceived safe havens having the ability to absorb the cash from those leaving equities, euro, etc. Gold is a safe haven too, but the gold market can only absorb so much without going to the moon. The more the world markets/currencies crash the more appealing treasuries and gold become. This trend has to end, and when it does, there will be an exodus from treasuries, and gold will...?

The dollar is being "manipulated" by changing its quantity or velocity to yield a targeted rate of inflation. Berny has stated this publicly well before the initial market crash.
I bought TBT in the hi 30s and sold half at 46. I would have sold or held all, but it is unclear to me how this fund will behave when the Fed starts purchasing treasury bonds. If TBT tanks, I will sell and wait for a re-entry. If the opposite, I will add on and ride it up.

Can someone expound on the possibility to execute QE by funneling the treasury purchases through the FEDs (not TARP) bailout program, instead of direct treasury intervention.
Not to sound like a lunatic, but couldn't the FED give $xxx billion to C, GS, BAC, etc... in return for those banks purchasing treasury bills. This would skew the statistics of who is purchasing to make it appear that the printing presses have not started a second shift.
