Be sure to keep us updated with your wife's progress. She sounds like a wonderful person. May God give the doctors the insight they need to provide the best of care.

Since you will be in Baltimore be sure to go to Inner Harbor. The Baltimore aquarium is beautiful.

  • Sad statistic of the day: Only one mortgage was modified under the Hope for Homeowners program approved last summer. Lawmakers had hoped the program would help up to 400,000 homeowners.  [View news story]
    What a waste of effort!

  • Alternative Energy Storage: Cheap Outperforms Cool [View article]
Thank you for your very informative article about energy storage stocks. I appreciated your "cool" vs "cheap" designation. Can "cool" ever be "safe?" (I'm mean a stock which isn't overloaded by dept and a stock which even pays a dividend?) At the moment I'm invested in JCI partly because of their lithium batteries=energy storage, but I know that JCI has other divisions which are currently suffering from lower demand for automotive parts.

  • Intuitive Surgical's Investor Day: Color Me Impressed [View article]
I appreciate your taking the time to communicate your experience. It sounds like they have a healthier corporate culture than many companies currently in the news. I'm a small shareholder. I only wish that I had gotten more shares!

  • Rosetta Stone IPO: Good Risk / Reward Trade Below $20 [View article]
I'm not surprised that Rosetta Stone has been so well received by investors. It is not a fly-by-night company that nobody has ever heard of. RST advertises very aggressively I've spotted it in several magazines, on different websites, and the local mall has a booth. Also disclosure I work for a small textbook publisher and along with our own materials our sales reps sell Rosetta Stone. This language learning product is quite popular among the homeschooling market which itself is a growing customer base.

I liked the cute orange kitten. It made a much nicer out of order message.

Earlier this year I noticed a good amount of insider buying of shares so I was hopeful that GLW was going to make up for loss ground.

  • Fertile Territory: Three Well-Run Operations [View article]
As a TRA shareholder, I don't want a marriage between CF and TRA. I have no idea what would happen to TNH in such an eventuality. As far as I'm aware, CF hasn't even mentioned TNH in its offer which is quite an oversight given the value that TRA has in its 75% stake in TNH. No wonder why TRA says that it has been undervalued.

  • CF Industries: Buying, or Being Bought? [View article]
I believe that CF has seriously undervalued TRA. In its offer to TRA shareholders, as near as I could tell, no mention was made of TNH. TRA has a 75% stake in TNH and from my experience, TNH is a cash cow--one of the few green oases in the red desert of my stock portifolio.

  • Medical Devices: The Next Big Trend? [View article]
Read ISRG's last earnings transcript. Doctors are finding Da Vinci an extremely useful tool to help them do more and more tricky surgical procedures allowing more of the patients' organs to be repaired reducing the need for transplants. Disclosure ISRG and TNH are the only stocks I have that are currently in the green.

  • Orange Juice Looks Strong This Winter [View article]
Wonderful news for the Florida growers. They could use some encouragement. I love all citrus products--hence my internet name. The question is how important is citrus to the Florida economy? What is a good OJ play? I know that Pepsi owns Tropicana, but who owns Florida Natural my favorite juice.

  • Kevin Kerr on Copper and Corn [View article]
As a beginning investor, I really appreciate articles which make commodities less mystifying to the average individual. Since I'm invested in PCU I'm hoping for a copper comeback. The whole commodities/energy synergy is fascinating. Thanks again for the understandable analysis.
