Dollar/Oil Reversal

Most who buy heating oil for winter have already completed their purchases; therefore the current price of oil at the wellhead should not be a consideration in estimating current demand.
More importantly may be the (Western) consumer's anger at being held over the proverbial barrel and willingness to wear sweaters indoors. Any oil left over in the home tank by Spring will effect next year's price.

While governments worldwide hope we'll spend our way out of recession, this self-confessed scrooge says that's exactly what got us into this mess. His message: Save, save, save.

AMEN! Reduce personal debt, raise savings. Then and only then spend cash.

Wal-Mart Sales Stats: The New Economic Barometer

Well! The outlook might not be as bad as painted. If i eat less, go more vegetarian,,etc. then most likely i will lose weight. Not only will that save on food costs, i will fit into the smaller clothes still in my closet and not need new ones. Next Dr. visit, if any, my weight and all weight-related symptoms will probably improve...i might not even need that lipitor any more. This ill wind might be doing a long-term good in the health department.

In addition to demanding 70mpg autos for the private sector BEFORE granting any more public money in any form, let the military and other govt agencies demand similar fuel efficiency in every vehicle they buy. Contracts have power and if big auto can't fill the bill, there may be some smaller companies that are willing to try.

And could we turn lose those young hot rodders who tinker with cars for fun to retrofit our present sorry stock.
