  • Petrobras: Opportunity or Trap? [View article]
    To: Ian Campbell

Yes, the Center Party has now joined the rest of the Alliance in that position. But, the overwhelming majority of Swedes do not want new nuclear power plants.

This latest step is more an effort to keep the current plants running. They had been scheduled for shutdown by 2020. Sweden's need for energy has caused this shift in the Alliance thinking. Should the Social Democrats come to power again in 2010 it is almost certain no new plants will be constructed. Even if the Alliance wins the 2010 vote it is unlikely new plants will be constructed because of the strong anti-nuclear sentiment in Sweden.

  • I Have a Bad Feeling About This Market [View article]
Even the biggest of fools can sometimes make a good point....I realize the articles written on SA are mostly opinion and some fact.
But, from these articles I get another viewpoint that may help in analysis of any given situation.

In short, anything that stimulates further evaluation of one's own viewpoint has merit.

Philly Jim, perhaps you missed the fact that Russian organized crime can be found in America in many areas, and have you looked at the streets in some American cities ? Also filthy. Or how about George Bush's totalitarian style of government, at least until that failed. Not to speak of poverty in the USA or the ever widening gap between the rich and the middle class. Yes, park your money in the good ol USA, you happy patriot.

I second that. Can someone explain the large decline in PCY. My belief is that the Russian stock market collapse as well as fears about Argentina's stability at least in part caused the selloff...More views please ?

I was lucky enough to get 100 shares on the IPO at $44 and am quite pleased...however, being cautious i sold half my position at $88 leaving the other 50 shares as pure profit....I intend to buy again if it breaks below my test position.
Regarding option strategy, why not sell a put, collect the premium, and in worst case, get the stock below current price. Also one of my strategies...
    Nice comments from everybody.
