  • Paying the AIG Bonuses - The Alternative Is Worse [View article]
If I'm not mistaken, historically it was the trust-fund babies who started and led the revolutions. The regular folk had no time, energy, or money for such deeds as they were striving to make ends meet or they feared losing their jobs thus did not want to rock the boat.

  • Is the Market Going Lower? Silly Question! [View article]
Blah blah blah... Not you, Mark, the "experts."

Everybody knows what's going to happen next...

    Bull$hit! Nobody knows!

    ...except maybe Leonard Cohen:

    "
Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost

Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
    Thats how it goes
    Everybody knows

Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
    Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died

    Everybody talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
    And a long stem rose
    Everybody knows
    .
    .
    .
Everybody knows the deal is rotten
Old black joes still pickin cotton
    For your ribbons and bows
    And everybody knows

And everybody knows that the plague is coming
Everybody knows that its moving fast
Everybody knows that the naked man and woman
Are just a shining artifact of the past
    .
    .
    .
    Oh everybody knows, everybody knows
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows.

  • Gaza War: Expect a Spike in Oil, Gold [View article]
"If someone kept shooting rockets at you house and family for eight years and you kept asking them to please stop but the continued you'd get pretty angry wouldn't you."

GlobalHOBBIT - only a fool would not be curious as to WHY someone would fire rockets at them. A terrorist is always fighting for a cause.

During the American Revolution, Americans were the terrorists, or freedom-fighters if you prefer. It all depends on the side you get your information from.

LOL you forgot to mention the inconvenience of the original "crossovers" - stone tablets, let alone the safety issues when reading on said john.

The RAZR can thank its popularity for its similarity to the Star Trek communicator. Nine percent of the US population are trekkies? Sounds about right. The Motorola logo looking very much like the Star Fleet insignia doesn't hurt either... Top notch marketing Motorola, but what have you done for us lately?

  • Is There a Risk of a Run on the Dollar in 2009? [View article]
Yes, based on your argument the dollar should fall, but in reality there are bigger forces than fundamentals at play here. I doubt anyone can predict what will be happening with FX in the next year.
