Apple is very strong financially and they know how to compete. I question anyone who stayed with Windows all these years and this article is obviously written from that direction. Though it warms the heart of this investor to see that the author's purchase hurt Microsoft, not Apple, since he didn't have an iPhone to start with!

people are personally owning more and more complicated tech devices and developing strong preferences. they are not being quiet about what they want to use at work. i see a steady exodus to Apple in a lot of work environments. That doesn't mean a takeover by Apple...but a bigger market share all around, for sure.

as a stock, this is a company that will be here in 2020 and it knows what it's doing. all those kids using an iPod are going to consider other Apple products. It's a good value company.

as a stock, this is a company that will be here in 2020 and it knows what it's doing. all those kids using an iPod are going to consider other Apple products. It's a good value company.

Steve Jobs never again wants to be in a '3 days to bankruptcy' situation and he's built a company that's as financially strong as possible. The stores are just spectacular and if you think all those young people in them taking those courses and playing with the toys are going to go home and order a Dell or a Zune, think again.

We all know the usual shopping experience... staff that's bored, distracted, often impolite and ignorant about the products they are supposed to be selling. Then there's the Apple store experience! Much of the staff is young...they're smart and pretty easy to train if you do it right. And Apple does it right. Anyone shopping at the King of Prussia Mall knows the difference between how it feels in most of the other stores and how it is to be in the Apple store. It's just exciting and a very positive experience.

The stores increase Apple's market share in everything they sell. There is still a huge demand all over the country and certainly all over the world. They need that physical presence...it's the draw to the products which feel and deliver like nothing else.

It's not like all Apple products arrive in perfect condition, though most do... but Apple does act responsibly and they are top rated for customer experience because they actually do care about their customers.
By the way, if i read your comment right, you'd go back if it switched to Verizon? Then where was the so called virus? You do know that the iPhone has Safari...system 10 (x) no viruses! Really...phone stores are notorious for not knowing anything about iPhones...yes, it's not great... but you have a warranty from Apple on your iPhone...call the 800 number and then send it back to Apple if you don't have an Apple store near you. The reason Jobs won Fortune's Best CEO of the Decade is because for the past 10 years he has seen the future. Partly it's because he's helped create it, but he also 'gets' where technology is going and has the savvy necessary to hire worthy staff and direct them toward profitable and amazing products.

I read books on my iPhone all the time, as well as playing games (oh, and i also make a phone call now and then). Even though the iPhone wasn't created as a dedicated bookreader, it's wonderful and has a much nicer user interface. I'm sure Apple will take over that market in the near future.
