Apple Moves to Dual CDN Vendor Strategy: Limelight and Akamai

i agree with the above. i would have liked an alternative when my mobileme went down (even if only for a day) before Apple got it's act together. even they got caught out by the enormous number of iPhone sales and immediate mobileme sign ups and if they'd had another vender, it would have helped.
because they know they will be releasing other amazing innovative products, with no real way to gauge initial purchases and installations, it's smart to have more than one company to handle the traffic.
