Great article. I've been wondering why China isn't getting more play when it comes to Apple stock. Maybe it's that Americans can't really picture what it's like there...the old idea of China doesn't fade easily for most. So many 'city' Chinese have some connection with family members living elsewhere in the world, especially in Asia. They're very connected to what's happening in technology and they want it!

You said it all with a million black market iPhones already in circulation. I think the only problem for Apple will be making the iPhones fast enough...though, since they're really made in Asia, this shouldn't be a problem.

thanks again, for a good article. as far as a credit card is concerned for the iTunes store...wouldn't Apple will sell iTunes cards at phone stores for cash that the consumer will then use online for purchases from iTunes? Maybe i'm missing something, but it seems logical.

Asia was way ahead of the west in cellphone features so this market will help give Apple the constant need to innovate, which they do well and quickly. other tech companies, Microsoft, Palm, Sony...all became complacent with their successes. That doesn't look like it will happen at Apple any time soon! When it comes to a tech company's ability to innovate, you're either 'the quick or the dead'.
