Wal-Mart Sales Stats: The New Economic Barometer

I couldn't agree with you more Tim. In my area of the country (SW FL) we are particularly hard hit. Tourism and construction our two main sources of industry have taken a beating. Builder after builder has gone out of business. Many started homes sit frozen in mid stages of construction. Existing homes sit for month after month. People are leaving the state in droves looking for work. The price of gas has strained every family budget and business this past year. Local animal shelters are having to turn away surrendered pets they have so many they can't take anymore. It is a sad state of affairs here. Our country needs to promote our use of renewable energy. When fuel goes up our economy suffers in every sector. Jeff Wilson just wrote a new book called The Manhattan Project of 2009. Interesting book!
