  • My Dividend Portfolio: Q1 2014 [View article]
    $33,000?! That's crazy awesome. I'm jealous!

Assuming a 5% yield, that's about a $165K portfolio. If only that were mine. LOL

Best job I've seen analyzing (from value investor perspective) on biotech companies. And not just speculative mumbo jumbo. So good that I'm adding you to "Kingkang's list" of followed.

  • Ross Stores: Retail Investing With Limited Risk [View article]
I love off-retailers but I don't either agree or maybe I misunderstand your comment of:

"as its customers will not readily cross over to rivals, such as TJX, that offer slightly more expensive merchandise oriented more toward utility than style."

I criss-cross between TJX and Ross all the time. And if there was a Filene's Basement in my area, I'd be there too.

What can I say? Us value investors love a bargain.

Alot of oncology products have black box warnings. It's really not that big of a deal for specialty products. For typical, primary care products, yes it would be but not in this case.

  • Revisiting Warren Buffett's IBM Investment Rationale [View article]
I know I'm going in somewhat blind into the IBM trade but with WB being the greatest investor alive today that we can ride on his coat tails into IBM is a good thing. I can't think of a common stock that I've purchased (after WB purchased) that has not worked out. We'll give this 5 years of how it plays out. Despite declining revenues, it's the share buybacks that people aren't realizing how much it affects EPS growth and thus the rise in stock price. Good luck to all.

  • My Top Investment Priority: Buy IBM Stock [View article]
I'm confused. I'm not understanding you guys. Why is averaging down on a GREAT company a bad thing? If I can average down on a great american business, I would do so. IBM is not a falling knife. It's a great business at a cheaper price. It's business....not cutco (those knives that people sold to people's homes). LOL

    Tim,

Did you average down from the last time you bought it? I think it was in the 180's when you mentioned you purchased it last time. Just curious. I bought at 188 and debating on averaging down.
