  • Update: The Female Health Company Strategy Decision [View article]
Weird. I had different conclusion and that is to buy. Yes, the disappearing dividend is disconcerting since it was a +5% yielder but this free's them for more cash for strategic growth possibilities to the consumer market. Awesome moat, great ROE, with no debt gives this company a strong financial footing. The revenues are very inconsistent since it is mostly sold to governments which is understand. I hope a buyout by CHD.

  • Buy Allergan, Not Valeant. It's A No-Brainer. [View article]
One of the largest ownership of Valeant is the Sequoia Fund - co-founded by Bill Ruane, and Richard Cunniff, two of Buffett's long-time friends that studied under Ben Graham at Columbia. Buffett was even quoted as saying "“Bill (Ruane) formed Sequoia Fund to take care of the smaller investor. A significant percentage of my former partners went with him and many of those still living have their holdings of Sequoia.”

Buffett probably would have gone with Valeant and not Allergan.

  • Warren Buffett's Secret Leverage... And Why You Should Be Using It [View article]
At first I thought this article was submitted on April 1st (April Fool's)......then I read the whole thing and my conclusion was right.....this is absolutely foolish. Whoever buys on margin is bad idea for either the novice or professional! Puh-lease don't take this advice!

WB quote on LTCM: "To make money they (LTCM) didn't have and didn't need, they risked money they did have and did need"

    He was referring to leverage.

  • My Top Investment Priority: Buy IBM Stock [View article]
I'm confused. I'm not understanding you guys. Why is averaging down on a GREAT company a bad thing? If I can average down on a great american business, I would do so. IBM is not a falling knife. It's a great business at a cheaper price. It's business....not cutco (those knives that people sold to people's homes). LOL

  • Let Dividends Do The Heavy Lifting For Your Retirement [View article]
I've read tons of DGI articles but this was definitely one of the best. My favorite parts:
-Now, at the tender age of 84, he (WB) is worth $58.50 billion. In other words, 98% of this fortune was achieved in the past 28 years. This was mostly done because of the power of compounding.
-They miss that those companies regularly manage to grow their dividends, because they are able to increase profits over time.
