  • Yellow Flags For Stocks Started Waving Last Week [View article]
    To the point...thanks.
I'm not a technical trader but I know in times like these so many are relying on techs that you'd be a fool to ignore the interpretation. I read about some viewing the importance of that 1775 base for correction purposes. With it hovering around the 1775 I lightened up on some of my holdings. I didn't want to lose my gains (and my portfolios' amounts with the market's almost record highs) and I'm content with keeping some out even if the market continues to go higher. I'll wait till a good correction to get back in due to its frothiness.

What if you did this intervals of time that are consistent like the last 10 year period (2002-2012). Your other examples are much longer periods of time. I'd like to see that.

  • JGWPT Holdings Has Massive Potential [View article]
Good and interesting article. There are other companies that offer annuities that do the same thing, I believe.
As someone who used to work in the insurance industry, I have some insight into structured settlements but not the workings of this company. When people took structured settlements it got cases off the books. They got less than the total payout would have been over time but they got it immediately and the insurance company got to close the case (win-win). Someone who knows basic math calculations would know their bottom line (total payout) is not better taking a structured settlement.

I'm not sure if some law firms use this type structured settlements in bankruptcy cases like this or not. Many contact folks offering to buy their claim in the bankruptcy court. One does not know how the claims stack up against one another and so there is the "unknown" factor in the bankruptcy cases making the settlements all the more attractive because your case could be low on the totem pole. (But you could take the argument if someone wants to buy your claim they must be confident the judge will honor your claim and it would be paid).
FYI...article by theStreet about this company and their caution about the leverage they undergo.
I think theStreet is right....this would be for savy investors.

I hope you're right regard many points addressed.

Too bad the smoking cessation trial's timing. I wish it had been a little earlier with Contrave's likely approval (OREX). They will have a harder time getting market share once OREX establishes that.

I'm long GOOG and loved your title. It's very hard to argue with the points you have made.

It appears John Doe is right. GOOG appears to be trying to keep a foot in the door to expand development of MFi which Apple will obviously have an advantage. But if this allows them to have a piece of that market, it could have been worth it. Whether or not this will be the only acquisition that will help them in this regard, who knows (hopefully it is - they've spent a ton).

My hope is they're putting their money into employing the best minds to be helping Page make these decisions (if he listens).

  • Pipe Dreams: Can These Marijuana Stocks Make You Rich? [View article]
ERBB has other non-marijuana related businesses; should they not have reported income from those? Why are they not reporting income from those but only lots of debt? I did my DD and I'm steering clear of this one and wonder if there is a well-run, legit pot stock that can be trusted.

Nov. 18, 2013: 11 million jury verdict for woman who became pregnant on topamax against J&J (Janssen) - cleft palate baby

There are 134 other Topamax pregnancy cases pending- just like this one.

This is the bad thing about this type drug.

How many cases will there be like this against Q? How will the stock fare?
